I use one. Lots of people do. What do you want it to do?

Track expenses. Income/Outflow, Payment Dates, Running monthly/yearly totals.
I need to get away from 3 ring binders and 3 colored pens.

Microsoft has a bunch of options that you can download for free from their website.

If you google "excel budget" or something like that, you'll get lots.....
I just made my own because I wanted to keep it very simple and none of the ready made ones fit.

The microsoft office website has a bunch of templates that you could look and see what works for you. My main sheet is set up exactly like a check register. I have columns for date, description, debit, credit and total. I enter my known income and expenses a month or two in advance so that I have an accurrate picture of the needed cash flow. I add new expenses (or income) as soon as it happens and then sort by date. Excel does all the math. I "fill" a cell with gray once the credit/debit has actually hit the account. I also color code my expenses, so that I can see easily what categories I'm spending money on. I then transfer the information over in to another sheet where I track spending in each category to see where I am in relation to our budget goals (which are averaged based on yearly spending). I have this data going back 5+ years. I'm attaching a very basic template of what I use. Obviously, modify for how it works for you
