I have read numerous articles on both sides of this argument
The economy is still struggling in a number of areas....jobs, housing, etc
Will the powers to be try to "fix" things again by either continuing QE2 indefinitely, or god forbid, beginning a QE3
What say you all

we will still be printing money, because there is nothing else holding up our economy. it won't be called qe3, or even very visible.
it will be as covert as can be, but be there just the same.

I believe there will be a QE3. If I knew it I'd be taking my spare cash and investing it in a 2x bullish silver ETF.

No QE3. Treasury always prints money.
Chrysler was paying us 12% interest. Not bad.

I think it will be extended, but only after a severe contraction when QE2 ceases. Then everyone will be begging for more QE. Or it could go down like Maui stated, under complete stealth. One way or another, I don't see how additional QE cannot happen.

The rise in M3 will be the catalyst.
I think the Fed and the government have been very open and transparent. All the info is out there. They may "spin" a little bit but doesnt everybody.

If QE3...i am with you Drftr....i will probably go with options though
If they proceed....all commodities are likely to spiral up again
Looking at play's under either scenario
The thing that may kill me is a stealth plan as some suggest.....
Not sure how to proceed if that occurs....

Stealth or not I believe the results would be the same.

virgin- q-3 or anything like that, will be a draw on the future of americans. it will not be a debt that you have to pay back, so hoping for q-3 is the same as putting that burden on your children and their children.
i am hoping you can understand this concept, as i am not sure you are capable of doing so, so this response to your mindless post might just be a waste of my time.

I would be more afraid of what happens if we don't have QE-3 if it is needed than what will happen with it. Because I'm INVESTED CORRECTLY - I'm not worried either way. I believe it would be more beneficial to my portfolio with QE-3 though and hence my children would benefit also. Maybe you should try it - you just might like it You love criticizing and mouthing off but your answer is to tell everyone the sky is falling and not to invest. This forum is about Investing - That's what we are doing - Maybe you should consider EE or another board altogether - Otherwise you will continue to be :

i haven't said anything like that. i have, responded to 'more debt' and stated "you can't borrow your way out of debt", which is exactly what qe-1, qe2, and if there is a qe-3, will be.
how you can take that as "don't invest" , i will never know.
and what is up with you and all the animation? do you work for disney and have an uncontrollable work compulsion?

gdgyva, don't know if you caught it my DECOY POST,but I believe that answer may very well have been given. Now I hate to reinitiate that CBO report (once again),however if the idea as implimented as to 'hold the markets at all costs to hold investor confidence' holds water (in which I very well believe has been a true statement up to this point of the game),then why in the heck would the previous FED honcho come forth and state 'there will be 'NO' QE3. Why that remark is in no way shape or form helping investor confidence. Once the bottle is pulled from babies mouth, well the artificial LIGHT (economy) is going to go very dark. Think 12% of peoples personnal income being spent on utilities and gas is bad now.
