WORLD NEW PALESTINIAN LAW GRANTS SALARIES AND BENEFITS TO…VIOLENT TERRORISTS Posted on May 24, 2011 at 6:31am Imagine your government utilizing your tax dollars to compensate radical terrorists. This is exactly what is happening in Palestine, as new regulations offer a government-sponsored reward system for radicals. Last week, Palestinian Media Watch (PMA), an Israeli research institute, provided information on a startling new terror-supporting law that the Palestinian Authority has implemented. The provision provides compensation to any Palestinian or Israeli Arab who is being imprisoned in Israel for acts of terrorism. Yes, that’s right — compensation. PMA explains further: A law published in the official Palestinian Authority Registry last month grants all Palestinians and Israeli Arabs imprisoned in Israel for terror crimes a monthly salary from the PA. The Arabic word the PA uses for this payment is “ratib,“ meaning ”salary”…Following the signing of this new law, the PA is now paying a salary to these prisoners… The PA also gives a salary to Israeli Arabs convicted of terror crimes against Israel – the country of which they are citizens. PA benefits to Israeli Arab terrorists, in fact, are greater than the ones extended to Palestinian terrorists. This is astonishing, considering that these monies are clearly being allocated as rewards for launching attacks against Israel. The Jerusalem Post writes: The PMW report points out that more than 6,000 Palestinians are currently serving time in Israeli prisons for terror- related offenses. Among those now eligible for salaries are Abdullah Barghouti, serving 67 life sentences for acts that include planning the Sbarro restaurant (2001) and Moment cafe (2002) suicide bombings in Jerusalem; Hassan Salameh, serving 38 life sentences for offenses that include planning a series of 1996 bus bombings; and Jamal Abu al-Hijja, serving nine life sentences for planning 2005 bombings in Hadera and Netanya. And violent terrorists receive much more than mere salaries. PMW claims that they also receive exemption from tuition fees at government schools (pending they serve five years behind bars). The tuition discount even applies to the criminal’s children, on condition that the prisoner was sentenced to at least 20 years and has currently served at least five years of that sentence. In this scenario, the prisoner’s children receive an 80 percent discount. And did I mention there are health care benefits as well? Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian National Authority The United States is one of the largest donors to the Palestinian Authority. Voice of America reported that as of Nov. 2010, the U.S. had provided $225 million in direct budget assistance to the Palestinian Authority for the year, with the total yearly investment in the Palestinians standing at $600 million. In April, due to concerns over connections to Hamas, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY04) called for the U.S. to stop aid to the Palestinian Authority. One would hope that none of the monies the U.S. provides the Palestinian government with are turned around and paid out to radical terrorists. Hopefully, the U.S. and other donor nations are auditing Palestinian Authority expenditures. But, that’s doubtful. www.theblaze.com/stories/new-palestinian-law-grants-salaries-and-benefits-to-violent-terrorists/

Voice of America reported that as of Nov. 2010, the U.S. had provided $225 million in direct budget assistance to the Palestinian Authority for the year, with the total yearly investment in the Palestinians standing at $600 million. Hopefully, the U.S. and other donor nations are auditing Palestinian Authority expenditures. But, that’s doubtful." ------------------------------------------------ It frees up $ given by other sources , say Arab States, contributions for wealthy Arab's sent to the PA so indirectly we are subsidizing. Personally , IMHO, it is similer to what the Israeli's have been doing with the continued construction of Apartments in say East Jerusalem. Even though they would/will be part of Israel , both sides agree on that , if a final settlement was done, but by doing so ahead of negotiation, taking away a bargaining issue from the Palestinian and a "In your face " provocation to the Palestinians in my opinion, this is too a "In your face to the Israeli's by Abbas and the PA. Whether in retaliation for the continued construction by the Israeli's, possible, turn about is fair play, to me a stupid decision, gives the US and Israeli's a LEGITIMATE reason to question funds going to the PA. If they were getting NO aid, different story, their $ to do what they want with it, but in this case, not their $ alone, and even if they proved $ were not the exact $ from the foreign aid, it doesn't wash . Interesting and good article Krickett as I said.

Good find, krickitt. Until the Palestinians (and the Americans who support them) can love their children more than they hate the Jews, there will be no peace...
Oh, and karma for you!

Thank you, Dezi. I googled it before I posted it, and there are lots of stories about this. It IS disturbing that we give money to a gov't that encourages and even pays people to attack Israel. No wonder they do it. They can set their kids up by just blowing things up in Israel. And they even pay ISRAELI Arabs to attack. Plus.. that this has been happening since BEFORE Hamas got involved. Not looking good for the Palestinian cause.

Don't forget, despite what the leftists want you to believe, Fatah is also a party of terrorism. It was Yasser Arafat's party before Abbas was involved. Fatah is full of bigoted terrorist animals just like Hamas. Both parties want to destroy the state of Israel and every Jew in the world. The only difference is that Hamas is open about it and Fatah is not...

I just feel kind of shocked, Ed. I didn't know it was this OPEN. Why is this not part of the conversation? What is going on here?

As I said, to me a stupid decision, a 'In your face , and giving those who do not care for them and even those who want to help them as they try and establish their State, a hard time in justifying the continued contributions. If it was their own $, while reprehensible in the eyes by most, still their $ to spend, but here, they are not in that position , by a long shot , and even the Euro peons who are big contributors to them, see how they guaranteed by $105 million more in a loan or aid, when the Israeli's were holding up the custom and tax revenues owed them, gives them a hard time in justifying the aid, hard to argue for aid when you give aid to convicted criminals, and many who were responsible for terrorist acts that for many country's , would have led to the death penalty, but Israel , except for Holocaust types, does not have that in their legal code.

That there are many not happy with Israel, true, but it is what is negotiated by those so in charge, and personal feelings don't count. Are you saying there are not so many Israli's who feel the same about the Palastinians, that they are all ready to give kum by yaa toward them, the hate and destrust is on both sides, but as in all negotiations, what comes out of those negotiations is what is important, personal feelings, as long as not acted on, mean squat. Do you thiink Begin after signing the treaty with Egypt was all of a sudden amoured by Arafat, or he with Begin, he lost his brother in the 67 War to Israeli Jets, a shoot down.
