30 out of 33 It looks like the 7 years I spent in high school were actually worth something.

Why not suggest a easy one first, say mediater between the Israelies and the Palastinians first to get a idea of what it is like.

I'm not convinced some of those specific questions were covered in my high school civics classes.

I'm not convinced some of those specific questions were covered in my high school civics classes. I thought the test answers were poorly written. I used test taking techniques, not memory of "correct" answers, on a number of them.

32 out of 33. I agree many of the questions were poorly written, billis. You had to try to pick the best answer, and it wasn't always easy because the wording was confusing.

32 out of 33. I agree many of the questions were poorly written, billis. You had to try to pick the best answer, and it wasn't always easy because the wording was confusing. It wasn't so much the questions for me, it was the answers. Many were throw away choices. The economic questions were, "Which choice puts the best light on capitalism/free enterprise?" answers. The Lincoln/Douglas and the one government debt (which I missed and shouldn't have) was don't go for the obvious easy answer.

Want to compare yourself to the people we vote into office to represent us? No wonder the country is in a mess. We vote dumb clucks to run it. In each of the following areas, for example, officeholders do more poorly than non-officeholders:
•Seventy-nine percent of those who have been elected to government office do not know the Bill of Rights expressly prohibits establishing an official religion for the U.S.
•Thirty percent do not know that “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” are the inalienable rights referred to in the Declaration of Independence.
•Twenty-seven percent cannot name even one right or freedom guaranteed by the First Amendment.
•Forty-three percent do not know what the Electoral College does. One in five thinks it either “trains those aspiring for higher political office” or “was established to supervise the first televised presidential debates.”
•Fifty-four percent do not know the Constitution gives Congress the power to declare war. Thirty-nine percent think that power belongs to the president, and 10% think it belongs to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
•Only 32% can properly define the free enterprise system, and only 41% can identify business profit as “revenue minus expenses.” www.americancivicliteracy.org/2008/additional_finding.html

26/33. I'm surprised by some that I got wrong I am not the least bit surprised. ;D But seriously- 32/33 I missed the one about government response to recession-- I said the government has typically increased both taxes and spending. The correct answer was that the government decreases taxes and increases spending.

Missed #31, billis. I read and read again, and still didn't get what they were asking! This one? International trade and specialization most often lead to which of the following? an increase in a nation’s productivity a decrease in a nation’s economic growth in the long term an increase in a nation’s import tariffs a decrease in a nation’s standard of living This was one of those easy ones for me. "International Trade Good" - "Specialization Good" Therefore answers B and D not options. "Tariffs Bad" eliminates C. Leaves only A. Bingo .

Neither of them told me YES.. ;D Cuz they're smart... see... 100% smart... ;D Seriously, I see no upside with the position, none, you are limited in how you can post..you and I would last a hour if that... Hopefully those who agree to run give some very SERIOUSE thought behind it before allowing NIC to be put up, some real SERIOUSE thought , and a stint on some of the other zones here as far as what to expect..., all I will say, for here, some SERIOUSE thought. nough said.

You answered 32 out of 33 correctly — 96.97 %
Question: If taxes equal government spending, then: Your Answer: government debt is zero Correct Answer: tax per person equals government spending per person on average
Same as Bills- interesting. I'd still argue the question- if that was government policy there would never be any debt to start with.
Thought I'd missed more than that.

31 out of 33 - I missed the one Socrates/Plato question and the wall of separation / Jefferson letters.
