I guess that's what her culture believes. Others also have female deities.

But, Marsha, did this brown girl God threaten anyone, or put a bullseye on them or something? If not-- I'm not sure we care. Plus, the article did not indicate if brown girl God is liberal or conservative, NOR if she endorses the Girl Scouts!! Incomplete info!!! (Yeah, the board is driving me crazyyyyyyyyyyy.) ;D

Don't know about God but Jesus was born to brown parents and most likely was brown also according to biblical scholars.

1. Sarah Palin's daughter are half Native American brown girl. 2. Native American values are distinctly CONSERVATIVE. a) Respect for unique individual differences among people. b) Quietness or silence is a valuable expression of mutual respect. c) Patience reflects faith that things unfold in their time. d) Open work ethic which sees that work has a purpose and is done in its time. No value given to unnecessary b.s. busy work. e) Mutualism permeates the social fabric. Each is responsible for his own in cooperation with others. f) Talk for talk's sake has no value. Words are important and powerful. g) Seeing and listening have high value. The past is important and it is brought into the future by means of careful observation and careful speech. h) Life is lived now, the task of today is the important thing. Now is the time. Promises have little value. i) What is is what is seen. Practical means, not flights of fancy, are called for in order to achieve success today. j) The spiritual life encompasses ALL of life, it is not a compartment aside from the entire. It is the entire. k) Caution and care should be taken, calmness maintained, in order to maintain a steady and peaceful environment. Ergo, Lithuanian Jewish brown girl Sarah Palin is the Conservative Native American brown girl God.I'd like to see anyone argue with that kind of logic.

Todd Palin No Poster Boy for Yup’ik Eskimos or Other Native AlaskansThere was the ever so fleeting moment during her speech at the Republican National Convention when Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin paid tribute to hubby Todd. She lightly mentioned that he’s of Yup’ik Eskimo background. Todd Palin beamed with pride at the acknowledgement in front of the packed convention crowd and in front one of the largest TV audiences to ever watch a candidate’s convention speech. But the cheering convention participants and millions of viewers won’t see the same smiles on scores of other of Palin’s Yup’ik Eskimos and many other Native Alaskans. They make up nearly 20 percent of Alaska’s population. A devastating report by the Alaska Advisory Committee to the U.S. Civil Rights Commission in 2002, “ Racism’s Frontier: The Untold Story of Discrimination and Division in Alaska” painted a picture of decades long economic misery, discrimination, neglect and alienation for Native Alaskans in Palin’s state. I do wish marshabar would post the point of this thread. It could have been an interesting thread on a slow Sunday night. It had nothing to do with politics or the stock market but I thought I would let it stay here and not move it to the EE board.
How it turned into a Sarah Palin thread... well I just don't know.

Tuesday, May 24, 2011– God is a Brown Girl, Too: The dominant discourse about God teaches us that God is a white man peering down at us from heaven. But Reverend Cecilia Loving is trying to change that by reminding young girls and women of color that “God is a brown girl, too,” and that they have permission to approach the divine in a way that is spiritually empowering for them. She also believes that when women fail to approach the divine in a way that empowers them, they become even more vulnerable to marginalization by others. What does it mean to approach God as a brown girl? Guests include Rev. Cecilia Loving. (emphasis added)(from the link in the OP) Truly a shame that the thread title does not accurately reflect what was said in the linked article.

Of course the rev is wrong. The dominant discourse doesn't teach that God is a white man peering down at us from heaven.

I totally agree! Where's the outrage? Yeah, it's not unlike someone starting a thread claiming that Rep. Michelle Bachmann's supporters made threats against someone on TEA Party websites and then you read the article and you discover that: 1. The article doesn't establish any threats were made at all. 2. The article doesn't identify anyone making the threats, if they were made, as a supporter of Rep Bachmann, or even a conservative at all. 3. The article cites not one post, nor does it identify a single website where the alleged posts were made.

According to the Christian Bible, God is Spirit.
(Which, in my way of thinking, would make God without human gender or skin color.)
The Christian Bible also states that mankind is made in God's own image ~ and mankind certainly comes in a wonderful array of shapes, colors and sizes (not to mention genders!)

I believe it is under investigation. Would you like the perpetrators to get a head start deleting the evidence by nationally identifying their website?
Now back to the thread at hand. There already is a Rep Bachmann thread.

We humans do like to settle for the most simpliest of answers. To think we know what God looks like silly. What would happen in the near future if we were visited by intelligent aliens who travelled to our galaxy and solar system via spaceship and they were colorless, had no heads, arms or legs, spoke out of the center of their 'bodies', and floated instead of walked. Would we still believe mankind was made in God's own image?
