I have 250/500/250 right now - some sites seem to suggest I could make that 250/500/100. Why would that be?
I have 5K in medical - thats not a lot. Do I need more? I have health insurance.

Probably because most people don't have any significant assets to protect, so if they get sued they won't lose anything.
I have $1 million single limit coverage for my auto ins., plus an additional million in umbrella insurance.
I don't carry medical either, since I also have health insurance, and the liability portion of my auto/umbrella insurance would pay for medical bills of anyone involved.
