I hate it when I log on and that stupid music starts blasting me! <<OK, I feel better now>> I wasn't sure that was the banner ad, so I muted my sound for now. Bit of a shock to go to these boards and get blasted with music.

i never have my speakers on so i never notice..
i'd love to go ad-free, but it would be prohibitively expensive. It costs $7 per 50,000 page views and we are currently at around 16,000 today. i've seen it up close to that 50,000 but i don't check every day.

Moon, I don't even notice the ads. I keep my volume off and honestly, until this thread made me look for the ads, I didn't even realize we had them!

My speakers are always off unless I'm viewing videos or checking music for downloads/burning CD's.

Hmm, wonder if I have gone deaf and no one told me I always have speakers on and haven't heard music when logging on. As for ads, I wouldn't think I was online if there wasn't some kinda ad on a page.

All you guys need to do is start using Firefox, and download Firefox's adblocker program...walla! No ads for me! You are cheating the company out of much needed resources by doing this though.

Companies don't need me looking at their ads. ;D You will care when the free sites you enjoy no longer exist. For instance Proboards is free site in which proboards is paid by people to place their ads on the site. Proboards uses this money to pay for their servers and web hosting, and pay their staff. If everybody used ab blocker proboards and this site would be gone within a few months due to the fact they have no revenue to continue. Just for food for thought.... The ads on here are very minimal and unobtrusive.

I'm just glad they aren't so close to the "home, new topic, etc" buttons that I click on them by mistake, like MSN's ads were. Now THAT was annoying!

So, I haven't gotten any banner ads with sound, but has anyone else seen the one that has a pick of a cartoon guy supposedly flexing his "pecks"? If so, is it just me, or is the part that is supposed to be a "real shoulder and chest" actually the pic of someones butt? If it's just me, that's ok, I still swear that's what it is!
