Palin has a roaring fire in her belly, air in her head and shit for brains plus a voice only a moose can tolerate. ... Asked by host Greta Van Sustren if she has the "fire in the belly" for a run, the former Republican vice presidential nominee and Alaska governor responded, "that's a great question." "I think my problem is that I do have the fire in my belly," said Palin, a Fox News contributor. "I am so adamantly supportive of the good traditional things about America and our free enterprise system and I want to make sure that America is put back on the right track and we only do that by defeating Obama in 2012. I have that fire in my belly." "It's a matter for me of some kind of practical, pragmatic decisions that have to be made," Palin continued. "One is, with a large family, understanding the huge amount of scrutiny and the sacrifices that have to be made on my children's part in order to see their momma run for president. But yeah the fire in the belly -- it's there." "That's kind of my problem is that it's such a roaring fire in my belly to preserve and restore all that's good about America that I struggle with that every single day," she added. ... Palin attributes the fire to a desire to "preserve and restore all that's good about America," but doesn't tell us what has been lost and what may be lost. The story of America is a story of change. The CBS story hints that she may be bothered by a belief that America is being ruled (indirectly) by Luo tribesmen of the 1950s. www.foxnews.com/on-air/on-the-record/transcript/palin-has-039fire-her-belly039-possible-white-house-run?page=1

At what point is a thread on this board considered too stupid to live?

I've notice that we seem to get a new Sarah Palin thread in here every few days. I figured there was some sort of rotating schedule for posting them, but what do I know?

It’s not obsessive, this interview aired yesterday, and she is considering running for the presidency thus she will get much attention.

She definitely is getting her background checked more thoroughly than the current President did

At this time Palin has one quality that no other candidate has, & that's the only reason that I would say that I might vote for her. That one quality is the ability to drive liberals crazy. They actually foam at the mouth a little when they get near her. For that reason alone I would vote for her. (Of course a better use for her would be to sneak her into the center of the Democratic convention. Right in the middle of it have her step out in full view. It would be like everyone there was suddenly sucking on an Alka-Seltzer).

Yeah- the only thing that is remotely interesting about Palin at all is the amazing, almost mysterious power she has over liberals. She is like a gravitational force that attracts them and gives them seizures. Other than that, she holds no special place in my book as the kind of person that would make a good president. She would long ago have faded away as just another McCain mistake.

I know conservatives would like to distance themselves from her now but for what reason. Not long ago she was a sacred cow that all true conservatives and tea party affiliates clamored too.

Yeah, yeah I suppose you're referencing Alaska's "spread the wealth around" oil deal. But if you really thought she was a socialist-- you'd support her. Oh, wait- I forgot you're probably never going to forgive her for not aborting her down syndrome baby? Guess you gotta have your priorities. Look, I'm not enamoured of a populist governor of a small state who couldn't even finish one term as governor. Period. I'm not a Palin apologist. I'm spot on, however, concerning the power she holds over liberals. She OWNS them. She lives rent free in their heads. It's a spectacle every time her name is mentioned. It makes me want to drop into the Oprah book club meet-up drop Palin's name and walk out.

I don't think any true conservative feels the need to distance themselves from her- I don't. I like her. I like her ideas. I think she came onto the stage and breathed life into a dead man's campaign, and she has brought a voice to enough people to be second only to Mitt Romney in the Gallup polls right now. I just personally don't like her as a candidate for President. I think she lacks the experience. And I think we've all seen experience actually matters.

I disagree, McCain would have won the presidency if not for Palin. I like many other centrist would have voted for him. His advanced age and the thought that she may become president changed our vote. As you pointed out she now polls second and will garner much more attention like it or not.

You can disagree, but you would be wrong. McCain was trailing by 20 points in some pretty red states until he nominated Palin. She brought the only real energy that campaign had. And the numbers bear it out-- McCain was never winning, but he got a 10 point bump from the Palin nomination.

At what point is a thread on this board considered too stupid to live? I actually like the fire in the belly comment. Hey she can't sound more stupid than this: Or looks less Presidential and immature than this: Accidental gesture? The crowd didn't think so. He does it again here: Or the classlessness he shows in his state of the union speech where he made an unprecedented attack on the Supreme Court: I could go on but you can clearly see how this is once again a silly attack on Governor Palin by people who refuse to apply equally those standards to Democrats.

His advanced age and the thought that she may become president changed our vote. As you pointed out she now polls second and will garner much more attention like it or not. Nonsense. Democrats had the momentum and the MSM in their pocket with tons of Americans wanting to vote a black man in to purge their racial guilt. Also, people were tired of the GOP. McCain vs Obama was just Ford vs Carter and Clinton vs Dole: boring, stodgy, older moderates vs charismatic, younger liberals: they formula just never works. The liberals attack Palin because they scare her: a conservative woman who electrified the conservative base and provided an alternate to the liberal feminism in politics. She had the power to shift women to the GOP and thus they attacked her with such vigor and vitrol that Mother Teresa would have looked like Satan. Where was the NOW gang when this woman was attacked BECAUSE she was a woman? If Hillary had undergone a tenth of what Palin went through, NOW would have been up in arms! The MSM dug up more dirt on Palin in 72 hours than they did on Obama the entire campaign and his presidency! The media felt it was more important to talk about Palin's offhand "I can see Russia" comment (or was that Tina Fey?) than whethe Obama was a legal US citizen and if so, on what passport did he use to travel to nations hostile to America as a youth!

Hey, it was working for Hillary until Obama and his single quality, his skin color, showed up. Ok, his other qualities were: 1. Not Bush 2. Speaks REALLY WELL from a teleprompter

If you don't like Palin, you don't like her. So what? Don't vote for her. Obama has shit for brains and a disgustingly grating voice as he reads his little Teleprompter as well. Obama DOES have shit for brains. He's a big-eared, ugly little fellow, too.
