Azucena hugs and good thoughts for a speedy recovery.
Definitely tell the insurance people to go away. Mine used to harass me for not filling a medicine soon enough. They couldn't comprehend that if you've been on something for 5+ years and refill as soon as it's eligible, you have a surplus. I'm pretty sure all those people are just trying to cut the insurance company's costs.

Both my boys also started reading Japanese Anime books in grade school . They still have most of those series today . They are 27 and 24 . Again , whatever works to spark the joy of reading . 😁

I think I'm in full on mama bear mode - ain't nobody messing with my man lol The repetitious questions at every change in location or service (nursing, case management, physicians, admissions, medical records, insurers, home health, PT,...) are enough to make anyone furious. And so many come when sleep is the order of the hour. Your DH is fortunate to have you, as are your girls. Glad you were given hand cream that really helps. Wishing for you peaceful rest and fresh ripe fruit for energy.

Well, I got the IUD and I didn't die. It wasn't bad at all. I'm going to go to the gym tonight still.

DS and I had a knock down drag out fight last night that resulted in me yanking the wifi router and hiding it...so that was cool. Those Love and Logic classes are really paying off.

I saw my doctor yesterday. We changed my physical to a med/mood check followup. Or something. Anyway, we're doubling my sertraline from 50 to 100. And I'm to keep on taking the D3. She agrees that we can probably lower the dose in summer when I'm outside and getting more sunlight and activity. I've got an appointment for the end of the Feb to try again for the physical. And I need a mammogram.
Dh is continuing with acupuncture 3x a week for the month of Feb. I'm not thrilled with this but I'm trying to let it go. I'm not sure we can afford it (it's all out of pocket) and it's just so time consuming. But it IS making him feel better and I want him healthy and able.
I also had a few minutes to chat with C's teacher and another mom yesterday. He said he often sees a big jump in kids testing scores because he teaches them how to take the tests and eliminate the obviously wrong answers. He's not noticed C having problems seeing the boards or anything but he'll try to pay attention. The other mom said this is the age for kids to have vision issues. I need to get C and me in for vision tests and glasses for me.
Tomorrow is vball games at 9 and 10, on opposite sides of the city. So K asked me to do her game at 9. DH is doing C's. Then K and I will go to C's game and DH will go into work. He'll have to go in on Sunday too. It's his busy season. He should finish up around the 15th of Feb. It's also my Mom's bday. She'll be 78. The kids are overtired. I'm going to try to get earlier bedtimes going. K is really bummed about not being able to sleep in this weekend. Sorry kid. Sometimes that's how it works.

I saw that. Pretty sure I did a lot more damage than good though as evidence by the carryover into the morning.

Yabbut it'll be the subject of many conversations at family get togethers in the years to come. My older brother died a couple of years ago, but we brought up that spoon many times. My mother was only interested in finding the spoon because it was sterling silver. And my kids have never forgotten the night of Spaghetti Mother. Best thing about spaghetti night was that they learned there was a limit to my patience.

We still talk about the day when a cup came flying out of the kitchen during a squabble my brother and I were having. It missed and hit the tree, my mom still hangs the broken ornament every year.
My dad has a bad habit of throwing dough balls at work. Never at people it's towards a wall, but still it's a habit he needs to break.

I am horrible about throwing things and I don't know where that came from. And usually it's my phone!

Dd7 cried her heart out last night - I have never heard that deep of heartbreaking sadness sound from her. Made me think I have no idea how you would get them thru losing a parent. She just keep sobbing I want my same daddy back.

Don't feel too bad. My dad once had to physically hold my brother on the floor before while my mom turned off his computer and took something from it so he couldn't turn it back on (back when it wasn't laptops and computers weren't needed for school). And a few years later during a huge fight I watched as my dad stormed out of the house, opened the hood to my bro's car, yanked something out that would keep it from working, and stormed back in and told my brother enjoy riding the bus. Shit happens. Teenagers are assholes.

The car got brought into it too! I said maybe I should just take that and he, said "oh, that would be great, then I would end up getting fired". Whatever would I do without him bringing in all that video game money. eta: I did call a truce a little bit ago. Everything had gotten way out of hand and he really is a good kid. He's just driving me nuts on a few things and I'm panicking that he's going to crash and burn when I'm not around to crack the whip. I guess if he does, he does. Not much I can do now to change how he is.

Thing 1 and I were like this before she left for college. I was calling her on her first week there and asking her when she was coming home for the weekend. It will pass. I wouldn't sweat it.

My mom and I got into the summer before college. It was kinda like we were both worried about me leaving.

I think this is a lot of it. We're worried and trying to break free from one another so it won't be quite as awful. My mom was like that too. She would pick fights with me over washcloth folds not being on the proper side in the cabinet.
She also barfed on move-in day my freshman year.
A couple of weeks after school started, I went to see a family friend who was in my college town...the family friend made some sort of comment to my mom on my appearance.. Mom went off the deep end and assumed I'd gained like 20 pounds in 2.5 weeks...and the culprit of that was obviously because I had gone on the pill.
I wasn't as worried about leaving for college as she was, which I think made things worse for her.
It could always be worse...your DS could be on the same path as mine Although, I will say, I'm pretty proud of my DS. Not especially that he failed geometry. But, over the past few months he figured out how to advocate for himself, get a plan B in place and ready to execute on in case it's needed. Sure enough, it was needed. DS did all the legwork and checking to make sure Plan B was viable before we went there. He presented his reasoning, we looked at the data, and supported his decision.

Ok, I'm not THAT bad! LOL We've been getting into it over him finishing this damn Eagle Project. It's been 8 months since the project has been done and he is draaaaaaging the write-up out. It's driving me nuts. Never would I have thought when the project was completed when he was still 16 that the 18 year birthday deadline might actually be an issue. Actually, even the write-up is done. He just has to print everything and stick it into page protectors and turn the stupid thing in with his application. He KNOWS this is driving me crazy yet he still plays video games or watches Netflix for 5 hours a night. I know it's just to taunt me. Hence my hissy fit last night.

Wish I could sleep in longer but at least ive slept straight thru the last 2 nights.
Yesterday his blood counts were off just enough that they did a CT scan last night looking for infection. Havent heard results but that is the last thing we need particularly with his hip replacements.
I only popped in the hospital for an hour. My mom and two of his friends split up the day for me to get a break. He didnt get up in the chair or get washed up though which isn't good. A friend will visit this morning while the girls and I go to church and then I'll go in the afternoon and stay until 7.
