helichopter, that's some great stuff you shared! Now who would do such a thing? How about somebody that is short on cake or physical delivery. That was so nice of you to share that,

How is the average post-apocalyptic retail gold buyer supposed to know real from fraudulent gold coins / bars? How to Make Convincing Fake-Gold Bars A top-of-the-line fake gold bar should match the color, surface hardness, density, chemical, and nuclear properties of gold perfectly. To do this, you could could start with a tungsten slug about 1/8-inch smaller in each dimension than the gold bar you want, then cast a 1/16-inch layer of real pure gold all around it. This bar would feel right in the hand, it would have a dead ring when knocked as gold should, it would test right chemically, it would weigh *exactly* the right amount, and though I don't know this for sure, I think it would also pass an x-ray fluorescence scan, the 1/16" layer of pure gold being enough to stop the x-rays from reaching any tungsten. You'd pretty much have to drill it to find out it's fake. www.popsci.com/diy/article/2008-03/how-make-convincing-fake-gold-barsShopping Mall of the Future. So where is the food court?

I would think that if you bought physical Tungsten you would be more likely to get the real stuff. And since Tungsten seems to have as good a chance as any other commodity to hit new highs... NAH NAH NAH NAH OOOOO BABY... DO the TUNGSTEN!

What is the intrinsic value of Silver or Gold if you can't take it with you? Perhaps only your humility and good works will buy what nothing else can. If we truly value valor and sacrifice above all else, then what of common commodities that cannot be exchanged for even the smallest fraction of anything of real worth?
Bless those among us that have served and sacrificed for the sake of others. Bless those that are willing to do so.

Tungsten "In World War II, tungsten played a significant role in background political dealings. Portugal, as the main European source of the element, was put under pressure from both sides, because of its deposits of wolframite ore. Tungsten's resistance to high temperatures and its strengthening of alloys made it an important raw material for the arms industry." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TungstenYes, Tungsten has it all my friends. - Intrinsic Value
- Mystery
- Intrigue
- Politically a bone of contention
- Valued by mystics, alchemists, arms manufacturers, speculators and counterfeiters.
- Outperforms Fiats (and Volvos too)
- Shiny
- Heavy
- And best of all...
It is METAL !

Tungsten is described as a strategic metal... and China (the largest producer) keeps what it produces. The intrigue grows deeper with every revelation. Follow the Tungsten. Tungsten’s ‘truth’ to come out in assayThe search for tungsten at the head of Loughborough Inlet began due to the diligence of a part-time prospector, the keen eye of a veteran geologist and a single rock sample. Whether or not the tungsten find at kilometre 11 on a logging road in the Stafford River Valley ever becomes a mine remains questionable, but the deposit is looking good. “It’s promising…we’re pleased with what we’ve done and we’re going to keep chugging along,” says engineer Robert Culbert, a consultant with Dentonia Resources Ltd. of Vancouver. The company is still in the exploration stage and core samples will be studied to determine the true potential of the deposit, but the find is exciting due to the growing demand and rising prices for tungsten.“About 85 per cent of the world’s production is in China and they keep it all,” notes Culbert. In Western Canada, tungsten concentrate is produced at the Cantung mine in the Northwest Territories . The mine had closed in October 2009 due to low prices for tungsten trioxide, US$187 per metric tonne, but reopened a year later when prices rose significantly. The price now is roughly US$463 a tonne. With Cantung profitable, Culbert can imagine the potential for the Stafford Tungsten Property, as it’s known. It’s far closer to shipping lanes, supplies and manpower than the mine in the Northwest Territories. Tungsten is also used for a lot more than making incandescent lightbulbs. Its ability to withstand high temperatures, resist corrosion and to create supper alloys is driving up demand as its also used in electronics, chemical applications, armaments, tools, halogen lamps, shotgun pellets and much more. “It’s known as a ‘strategic metal’,” says Culbert. www.bclocalnews.com/vancouver_island_north/campbellrivermirror/news/123053178.html

I found a source that sells pure Tunsgten (bullion) disks by the pound. They look like coins. Count them. Stack them. Run them through your fingers while dreaming of the power and wealth that only physical Tungsten can deliver. [*cough* wheeze*]... I will need to practice my diabolical laugh so it is ready at those critical moments. ;D
