He made it clear..US stands with Israel, we are connected, by history , by our political and beliefs of freedom. It is unshakable have no doubt about that. We, the US, will defend it when it, Israel, is singled out called out specifically in international forums, the UN is what he is talking about.
He said symbolic happenings, September is when they are to attempt it, the recognition of Palestine by nations is NOT going to give them their State, and to not guarantee Israels right to exist will also keep them from achieving their State, and Hamas refusing to accept that fact will keep them from achieving that state.
To Israel, he said, the borders are to be formed by the 1967 boundaries with swaps where necessary due to settlements of territory and to the Israeli's, the status quo, is not sustainable, must end, they have to make a commitment to settle this problem.
He affirmed the support for Israel, no change there, but as a ally, a friend, we will also be honest with them, as to what has to be done from their point.

He DID defend Israel, Dez... sounded kind of good.. but he also defended her enemies and the uprisings which we can now see are being engineered to unite the enemies of Israel... he is a good speaker, but IMO it was at BEST a worthless speech as to what it will mean in the ME, and at WORST a confirmation of the rise of the MB and other forces that will go against Israel AND the US.

He speaks so well it is hard to not get sucked in when he says nothing.,. charisma he has... when he is not smirking. Notice how you see him clearly trying to control his facial expressions... fascinating how these politicians train.... have you seen Sarah Palin lately?? She is presenting like a DIFFERENT PERSON than 2 years ago. So interesting.. people write their speeches, coach their voices, expressions, body language... you have to watch and listen and READ so closely to catch even half of it...

Yeah, he almost kept all the arrogance out of his eyes even. Training pays off. No more Mr. Smartazz. . . Now if he could just stop waggling his hands when he goes up or down stairs. . .
