Brent Bozell III said today that CNN's Fareed Zakaria must recuse himself from covering foreign policy issues involving the United States, after it was revealed that Zakaria has been privately meeting with President Barack Obama to advise him on foreign policy issues.

“Zakaria is a reporter--or says so,” Bozell said. “To now claim that Zakaria’s covert meetings do not conflict with his journalistic integrity is not only inaccurate, it’s hypocritical by CNN’s standards. As such, Zakaria must recuse himself immediately from covering foreign policy that affects the United States. A refusal to extricate himself is in clear violation of CNN’s journalistic principles.”

Told you Krickett, the guy is a pretty sharp one on his ideas, even if you don't agree on all his points, have to give him credit for traveling in top company, oops, realize not your favorite, but still, agree or disagree, he's well respected, by both sides.

I'm not sure its a good thing or not for him to be advising about Middle East issues but when he starts mouthing off about how Muslims are supposedly marginalized in the US and other liberal views that are costing the country billions then as far as I'm concerned he can pack it up and it take back to India.

He can't be having meetings with the POTUS and then reporting as a journalist. Correct call. Of course journalists are SUPPOSED to remain unbiased, we know they are not, but these meetings with Obama just pushed Zakaria over the cliff. Maybe Obama can put him to work in the WH.

I was under the impression that he was not a Muslim, I thought I read that he was a non practicing Christian, I did check and saw I was wrong.

To me, know big deal, not sure as to how observant he is and not really important to me and most people.

Well I believed you have made clear your feelings on those of that faith as well as many minorities, and the example of your comments above, just re emphasis's your feelings on the topic.

While I would never suggest it, not having the expertise, I believe some might feel you and others with similer feelings could use professional help on their paranoia on these topics. IMHO.

Of course he can. If because of this , occasional meetings with the POTUS, you want to dismiss his ideas on topics that's your right as it is with all these analyst.
He is very careful in identifying his comments as his ideas, not as a reported news fact, he mentions the events, and then suggests his ideas on those mentioned topics.

I told you a long time ago, this is a bright individual, his history and scholarship are right up there, and his ideas that he espouses are interesting to consider, many times a different slant on things, and when you examine the people who have appeared on his shows for interviewed, in many cases , giving exclusive interviews to him, to no one else, there has to be a reason.

He is very respected by so many. To just dismiss him, because he has sat around with the POTUS or other such types to exchange ideas, IMHO is foolish but if one wants to do so, their right , so be it , but to me it would be a wonderment as to why.

Actually , while it was a surprise that he did, meet with the POTUS, I have thought many times , why don't people like this and he in particular, be called in from time to time , to give his ideas , face to face , questioned , as a adviser. Actually , it has been reported many credentialed people have been in to see the PONTUS to chat, I beleive I read recently Mr. Buffitt was one, and if i googled i am sure i would find more. I beleive our former POTUS have also availed themselves of chats with such people too, from the religiouse, Billy Graham to the financial , to those who have ideas.

That I find out he has, while to some here, it is so terrible, to me it shows Obama is a smart cookie and looking for information and ideas on all those problems he faces that are on his plate and to have one give advice who has no personal axe to grind, beholden so to speak to the great man ", working for him so to speak, was a good thing.

Just because ideas are given, solutions suggested, the final decisions, and there are other things the man has to consider, no less th realities of what can be accomplished with all the factors to consider, least the politics that are involved, and they are always there like the elephant in the room, very much in play on all things done.

If he continues in both roles, now that his little secret is out, his credibility is shot. Of course, anyone watching CNN and looking for credibility among their "journalists" is kind of a fool to begin with...

No don't think so. There has been some revisionist theory's put up by former supporters of the Senator , and a few correct calls by the Senator regarding possible Communist ties of some of the accused but over all, the man has to be characterized as a sleaze.
