I really believe that Ron Paul could beat Obama. Ron Paul can get republican, independent, democrat, and tea partier votes. The Libertarian Party's nomination for President is Ron Paul's for the asking. It will put him on the ballot in most if not all the states. Seems the way to go for him to be president in 2013.

Will McCain run in 2012?

Jon Huntsman may be the real GOP dark horse who could sprint across the finish line.

www.politico.com/news/stories/0511/55098.htmlBy JONATHAN MARTIN | 5/17/11 4:39 AM EDT LAS VEGAS – Mitt Romney, usually cautious and measured in describing his nascent campaign, allowed himself a minor indulgence in describing to reporters the fundraising call-a-thon that netted his presidential bid $10.25 million here Monday. “That’s a terrific start,” Romney began, in typical expectation-setting mode, before catching himself: “Actually it’s more than just a start — it really gives us the boost that we need at this early stage in my effort.” One of his top advisers was even blunter when asked whether any of Romney’s rivals could demonstrate the sort of political muscle-flexing that the former Massachusetts governor staged by convening over 700 supporters to call through their Rolodexes for the better part of eight hours on the floor of the hangar-sized Las Vegas Convention Center. “No,” said longtime spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom, recalling that Romney held similar events in his last campaign. “Nobody has copied it because it’s hard to do.” If Romney and his campaign sound confident, or even a little cocky, it’s because they’ve developed a fearsome fundraising machine that is almost certain to be unmatched by any other GOP hopeful. And he’ll need it, judging from the not-good-enough reaction to his healthcare speech last week and the continued pining for more candidates. Romney’s total haul for this quarter, to be revealed in July, will be revealing. One fundraiser here said assuredly that the Republican would raise $40 million, a sum that could give him a financial advantage so strong that it partly compensates for his considerable weaknesses. Considering what Romney raised here Monday and that he will, according to a campaign official, hold over 30 fundraisers between now and when the quarter ends in June that figure seems quite possible. His biggest asset, however, could be the millions in his own bank account. The former venture capitalist plowed $42 million of his own money into his failed 2008 bid for the nomination. MORE.. **Well,I can think of worse things than Romney -- like Obama.**

McCain would be 76 if he became president in 2012. Born August 29, 1936 at Coco Solo Naval Air Station, Panama Canal Zone.
I still think he may run. I know he wants to.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I say Ron Paul is a loose canon - as he always has been. He has a fringe following, but that's about it. A very rare instance where Lak is right.

I think Daffy Duck could beat Obama if Obama is forced to run on his record, a record of economic failure, divisivness, chaotic foreign policy, lack of transparency, and lies. Obama is mire that beatable. There's no reason any objective thinking person would elect to send this incompetent fool back to office for another 4 years!

Romneycare is some pretty big baggage for him, imo. The more he denies Obamacare was based on it and how different they are,the more he makes them sound alike. I think the GOP's best shot is Mitch Daniels.......

Yes, Romneycare is a problem. BUT-- if he wins the nomination I think people will vote for him. Heck, Romneycare could even bring some angry at Obama Dems his way. Anyone but Obama. I wanted Romney last time, but I still voted for McCain. And Romney DOES have the positive background in business Obama has never had. We'll see. I kind of want a brand new face this time, but I will vote for Romney if it comes to that, and it will be easier than voting for McCain was, too. Daniels may end up being "put" in the spot, like Obama was over Hil, but he won't be the people's choice, I don't think.

Jon Stewart: I'd Vote Against ObamaJon Stewart told Bill O'Reilly that he would consider voting for a Republican, and that President Obama has not lived up to his expectations. In the second part of their chat (the first, which focused on rapper Common's appearance at the White House, aired on Monday), O'Reilly and Stewart discussed the 2012 presidential race. O'Reilly told Stewart half-jokingly that Obama "let you down sometimes when he didn't do a far-left thing you wanted." "How far left am I?" Stewart asked. "It depends on the night," O'Reilly responded. He then asked, "would there ever be a scenario where you could see not voting for Barack Obama and voting for a Republican?" "Sure," Stewart said. "If I didn't have a clear sense of the direction he wanted to move the country in, and somebody else had a more logical sense of where to take it." O'Reilly expressed surprise at this, and asked if Obama had lived up to Stewart's expectations. "No, but I don't know if my expectations were fair," he said. "I believed we lived in a more transformative time...I think he had an opportunity more in the Reagan mold to be a bully pulpit president." Stewart also ran down the field of potential Republicans. Even though he said he could see himself voting for one, the current batch seemed rather unimpressive. The highest praise he could deliver? "I would imagine that Tim Pawlenty seems like a reasonably logical individual." www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/05/18/jon-stewart-bill-oreilly-obama-republican_n_863464.html

GOP Donors Deserting Newt GingrichWASHINGTON -- Newt Gingrich's catastrophic first week as an official Republican primary candidate may knock him out of the race before it even gets started. And if he stays in, fundraising will now be much more difficult, and that could hasten his exit, Republican sources said. The former House Speaker from Georgia's once biggest advantage over other long shot candidates -- an established fundraising network -- is withering before his eyes. "The last 48 hours have called into question if Newt can even make it to July 4, because his fundraising is going to dry up," said one veteran Republican strategist. "No serious finance bundler is now going to step forward in such an organized campaign and take a leadership role." I say it will depend on the economy. If it turns around and grows drimatically then Obama wins, if not he is done. Old saying-people vote their pocket book. Still holds true.

I'm starting to question whether the Bush disaster can be turned around by 2012 - by anyone. I'm convinced even after 8 years of economic destruction under Obama he and the rest of the liberal no nothings will still be blaming Bush! Funny thing is after the Bush tax curs were extended the left was screaming "where are the jobs?" So you expect the republican policies to instantly fix the thing that your guy after 2 years and 5 trillion in "emergency spending" couldn't fix in 2 years and that's only because it's Bush's fault??? Lol!!!

Nope - he is a sure winner, especially with the pathetic candidates the Reps are putting up. Let's see he just sacrificed Israel and threw away 60 years of US policy while presiding over an economy that is barely growing with continued and persistent high unemployment food and energy inflation foreclosures rising and home values shrinking doubling our aid to Arab nations that hate us and he did all thus while shoving a unconstitutiobal health care law that destroys our health care system, raising the costs while limiting access and cutting medicare while creating 2.5 trillion in new taxes... and you think he's a "sure winner" ? Lolololol

Ohhhhhhhh right, Bush held the purse strings all by himself, congress couldn't do anything about him because he was the all powerful OZ. Pathetic.
