There is no way she is electable. What part of she has not a clue about how the gov. works or who our allies are for pete sakes? Should you not at least know that? I am sure there are better qualified female Republicans to run. Why would they run a quitter? What about those voters in Alaska who supported her abd then to make a buck leaves them in the lurch. This all adds up to POTUS material? Hell no.

I don't thing Palin could get elected President. I think she is very popular, but she is also very polarizing. I also think that she cost McCain quite a few votes in the 2008 campaign.

I wonder about that Archie. At the time McCain's campaign was stagnant. The Religious right were sitting out..not going for Obama but not going to bother to vote either. I remember a TV interview some church group up in Northern Florida or possible South Georgia, and after Palin was added ti the ticket , they were so excited, said they were probably not going to voter before but know were calling all the friends to get out the vote. The same with the right , old time Republicans.
I don't know who she lost, possibly even picked up some of Hillery's old crowd, makes no sense but they were disappointed and she was a woman.

No TRUE Hillary supporter would have switched to Palin. The woman represents absolutely polar opposite of everything Hillary was & stood for. I don't know any women that are stupid enough to throw all their beliefs out the window and vote for a woman JUST BECAUSE she was a woman.

Polar opposite in honestly and integrity would be more precise. Nothing could compare to Clinton's outright lies, manipulating and conniving behavior. With nearly every speech she gives it is obvious she has an agenda other than upholding the constitution and sovereignty of the United States.

She was a major factor in McCains loss. Think of it..... McCain is unable to serve which means she steps in. That scared the wits out of me.

thank you! I was about to quote the same comment, and decided to scroll down first. when Hillary conceded, I (as an unenrolled voter) looked at the options still available and decided that Obama was a much better option than the McCain/Palin ticket and voted as such.

please do not insult the intelligence of the female voter in implying that she will vote for anything without a Y-chromosome.

I'm sorry, but not every hockey mom wants to go out and kill something just because it's there. most hockey moms I know (and they are teammates of mine) want to preserve a great country for their families. Hillary presented a platform that was the same.

You may not see how Hillary Clinton wants the same, but that's your vote. oh wait, you're in Canada....you don't have one.

Living in Georgia (a historically red state), my dem vote was a throw away. I was prepared to write in Hillary under those circumstances. When it began to be talked about Georgia may be going blue, suddenly my vote might have counted. That was when I decided not to just throw away my vote, but to vote for Obama.

In the end, Georgia stayed red.

there was NO way that just by being female that Sarah was going to change my vote to McCain. Her political views/beliefs are something I could never ever support. EVER. I'd vote against her for prom queen or dogcatcher.

I disagree. Hillary supporters were more concerned about her stand on the issues, her experience, and her intelligence, than gender. I'm uncertain as to why anyone would think people would abandon one candidate, with whom they agreed, to support a candidate who was the polar opposite on the issues that concerned them, just because they were the both women.

cheers for your honesty. I have to say I felt the same way in '04, as a democrat-leaning voter in MA - Kerry's home state. I will gladly admit I voted Nader in that election. I was so appalled that he was denied entry to a nationally-televised debate here in MA because his party didn't meet some arbitrary minimum at the previous election. I may not (and heartily do not!) agree with his opinions, but I am insulted that his opinion is not offered up for consideration because it wasn't previously in the mainstream.

my (D) vote that year wasn't going to change the national election, but I'd like to think it would help to change the status quo. of course we're going to be drudging up the same arguments as long as we have two parties. but we're not going to get any better options as long as we're locking out differing opinions.

I say let's put a conservative woman into office. Palin couldn't do worse than Nobama, and would likely do a far better job especially given the fact that she has actual executive experience. Not even Hillary has that experience.

Lordy all mighty ladies , you are all up in a uproar. Can none of you take a joke and a little joshing or does everything posted here have to have the importance of life or death..lighten up already and if you want to really push it , I am sure with the millions of woman who were pushing for Hilliary, there was one , two , three and just possible four..who had no use for O'bama at all, were very into Hilliary as a candidate, [possible not even all her politics] and when McCain's chose Palin, when casting their vote, DID vote for McCain's and naturally Palin. One , two, three and just maybe four.
