All kinds of nobody seems to grasp the significance of this. Seems to have fallen flat.

They either do not believe or do not care. Who knows? More too do with, there is nothing we can do about it. As long as OPEC controls the flow of oil we buy they have control, One arab allowing another Arab to determine production of Crude that we buy, not really a big deal. If amendajaberwockyinthehouse or what ever his name is decides that he is going to kill the golden goose (America's money buying there product) and close the spigot off, what can we realistically do? We need to open more exploration and drilling here, the sooner the better.

Well, Obama has supposedly folded to pressure from Repubs and is going to do that. BUT-- he said that last year, too.

It'll never happen. We all know the Saudi's really run OPEC. We learned that in 2008 when they walked out on the cartel and refused to honor their production cut. Production limits previously set were largely ignored as well. They also realize that instability in an economy as large as ours would be counterproductive to their goals of making lots and lots of money. For the most part, OPEC has lost its teeth. Sure OPEC can still move prices to "show they're in charge" but countries will "cheat" and overproduce as prices rise. If not, non-producing countries will purchase oil and resell to the US simply to make money. Welcome to a global economy boys and girls! It's not 1973 any more.

I just see it as if OPEC or any other country we buy our oil from decides that they will raise prices simply because we will pay what they ask, what are we to reallisticlly do? We grumble, we whine, we pitch a fit and continue filling our vehicles to get where we need/want to go.

Where's Lakhota on this thread? She said she supports Ahmedinejad. This is good news for the hard left...

Peachy. Always a good idea to give a psychopath more power.
