SHABQADAR, Pakistan — A pair of suicide bombers attacked recruits leaving a paramilitary training center in Pakistan on Friday, killing 80 people in a strike that the Pakistani Taliban claimed it carried out to avenge the killing of Osama bin Laden.
The blasts in the northwest were a reminder of the savagery of al-Qaida-linked militants in Pakistan. They occurred even as the country faces international suspicion that elements within its security forces may have been harboring bin Laden, who was killed in a raid in Abbottabad, about a three hours' drive from the scene of the bombing. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43017005 This attack against those in Pakistan standing against al Qaida and the Pakistani Taliban highlights the need they have for our continued support.

Agreed, Send them another 3 billion we don't have.
These guys claim they are a strong international nation capable of destroying India, their arch enemy. Let them start with an organized group of thugs they ALLOWED into their country.

Let them start with an organized group of thugs they ALLOWED into their country. Having the nuclear capability to destroy a neighboring country is different than being able to totally control an internal threat. We do need to take a serious look at the amount of dollars we send overseas, including to Pakistan. Support can take multiple forms. I am more concerned about the tone of the rhetoric directed towards Pakistan.

Well, Bills, under the circumstances, they do deserve a good chastising......... "They" consist of 169,708,300 individuals. "They" consist of many different organizations, within and outside of the government of Pakistan. "They" consist of a one nation. Which "they ... deserve a good chastising"?

Let's see, where is the problem with that? If the Taliban blows up Pakistan for harboring Bin Laden, then we don't have to. Thanks Taliban! It is win, win for us!

With friends like these...
There's a muslim problem in the world. We were attacked as well- at least twice that we know of, 9/11 style, last week. Fortunately, passengers were in a position to stop the terrorists shouting "allah is the greatest" in arabic.

The bombers blew themselves up at the main gate of the facility for the Frontier Constabulary, a poorly equipped but front-line force in the battle against al-Qaida and groups like the Pakistani Taliban close to the Afghan border. Like other branches of Pakistan security forces, it has received U.S. funding. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43017005/ns/world_news-south_and_central_asia/ Details.

Bill, time to stop wasting tax money we don't have and NOT fund anything in Pakistan! Which is a totally different statement than your previous one that thanked the Taliban for the terrorist attack.

You've been wallowing in a quagmire of complexities for over 50 years now and look where it has gotten you. Go back to the ways of old and forget about your unsustainable "progressiveness". /Dalton

"Progressives" do not speak the word BACK, burns. The ground beneath their feet could be burning, and their last words would be "Bush did it."
