This draft Executive Order could be a very dangerous tool if it makes it to an actual Executive Order.
AIA Opposes Draft Executive Order on Political Donations Last update: 5/12/2011 1:47:00 PM ARLINGTON, Va., May 12, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- The Aerospace Industries Association expressed deep concern about the effect that a draft Executive Order on political donations would have on the government contracting process if implemented. "As written, the Executive Order introduces the possibility that donations to a political party or candidate will be considered when contract proposals are evaluated," said AIA President and CEO Marion C. Blakey in testimony at a joint hearing of the House Small Business and Oversight and Government Reform Committees today. "Political contributions should never be considered by any procurement officer when making a contract award decision." AIA supports greater transparency and accountability in the federal contracting arena. Reporting requirements for political contributions that apply evenly across the board for all individuals and organizations already exist. The Executive Order would impose an undue burden for reporting by federal contractors that would not apply to other individuals or organizations, infringing on their constitutional rights. "To comply with this order, each federal contractor will have to develop, implement and maintain a system to track and record all personal political contributions," Blakey said. "This additional cost burden is particularly challenging for small companies. They simply don't have the resources to meet this mandate." "We cannot support actions that introduce politics into federal contracting," Blakey said. "We're urging President Obama to withdraw this Executive Order without additional consideration." It will honestly be a sever clusterf***.
How many lawsuits will be brought because, company x donated money to the *** political party where as I donated my money to ^^^ party, because *** is running the show he is giving government contracts to those who support his political philosophy.
Then once it passes how long after the leading party losses favor and brings up there own version of discrimination lawsuits?

Gov't has NO RIGHT to know who companies donate to so they can choose who they want to award contracts to. This is one of the dumbest yet....

Anybody able to dig up the thread from yesterday, it was started by Ed I believe. Heh. No, hon. The thread was started by marshabar who, one would have thought, could have referenced the thread herself instead of taking a "snip" at you for starting another when you couldn't find the first one. However, here it is: notmsnmoney.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=politics&action=display&thread=8055

I didn't intend to start a duplicate thread. I did not see the previous thread on this subject. My bad.
