Those CB shoes are very pretty. But no way in hell would I wear them.
I have spent money on some pretty stupid stuff, so I'm not judging, but I just don't get the "shoe thing" that so many women seem to have. My list of requirements for shoes is: 1- must be comfortable 2- can't look like old lady shoes
And I'm negotiable on the second point.

DW got a rolex for her college graduation gift. Her parents spent about $3K 10 years ago. Same watch (used) now costs about $4K. I don't think used shoes hold the same value. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/idunno.gif) Designer shoes do.

Evedently those spikey heels were clear plastic shaped like a p***s. They also came from an exclusive shop in London and cost a bundle. ![](http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/smileys/1-1.gif) Is it bad that I am now dying to see said shoes based on your description? ![](http://boards.msn.com/Themes/default/emoticons/red_smile.gif) They were featured on If Style Could Kill. You'll have to scroll through to get them, probably to the second page. I'm on a work computer, so I'd rather not pull the direct link up. ETA: Oops. Maybe should have checked the last page before posting. Oh well. The site is kind of on topic.

![](http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/smileys/1-1.gif) OMG, those shoes are hysterical. Man I could have just taken the heels off my black boots and glued some dildos in their place for a fraction of the price those were probably made for. Damn I always miss money making opportunities ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png)

I have to admit that if I had the money to spend on designer shoes, I would have lots. As it is, I try to keep my shoe costs to under $100 a pair.

"I made that exact same comment one time on the old MSN boards about people who were talking about spending money on extremely expensive "human grade" pet food. I combined the "more money than brains" comment with pointing out the fact that their pets are not humans. "
Umm shoes are not living things, dogs are. You can't compare... I'd much rather spend any money I have on animals than shoes or even other people...

Tell her to look at the look4less.net- CL shoes are often posted and with cheaper shoes that are...well... exact knockoffs for less ;D
I really like shoes- but the most expensive shoes I own are leather boots that were at the most $140ish

I have a lovely pair of Louboutins. My husband gave them to me as a gift. Yes, we can afford it. Would I spend that money and buy them for myself...no.
They are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn and I frequently wear 3 inch heels. I had them stretched as they run small...still painful.
The red soles on these shoes are supposidly a status symbol. Fine, whatever. When I DO wear them (infrequently) many people can see the soles, as I'm sitting down 'cause my feet hurt so much!
There...I admitted it...flame away...

Cawiau, I think you should buy her those shoes. Lol I know I ll get flamed for this but here is my take. Just imagine how hot she will look in those heels. Plus also you are taking an expensive vacation next year, she can wear it on her trip. An expensive gift every two or three years isnt bad. Make her feel sexy and she might make up for it in the bedroom. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I am screwed... it seems my wife is getting those shoes or all the bridesmaids are wearing those shoes. WTF? Who has a wedding and requires that bridesmaids wear 1K shoes?
Anyway, she called her godmother whoes niece is a buyer for them. Seems she can get them at a discount for my wife, will see how much it will end up costings.
So far I am telling her to drop out, even if it is her best friend wedding. She is the one that just graduated from medical school, she might be able to afford them but not us (no student loans, her mom paid for both undergrad and med school out of pocket).
But my wife feels bad since she was the maid of honor at our wedding.

Who has a wedding and requires that bridesmaids wear 1K shoes? Okay, that is ridiculous. If the bride really cares about your wife, she will want her in her wedding regardless of what kind of shoes she's wearing. Is it the red-soles effect? You can buy cheap red-soled knockoffs at AMI Clubwear dot com and other sites, the bride may not even know the difference. On the other hand, if you do end up getting CLs and buy them used, you can probably offload them after the wedding for close to what you paid... not sure if your wife would be willing to do that, though.

All I did was look at the damned shoes on this thread. Now everywhere I go on the internet, I'm followed by the damned ads. Big Brother is watching me and he's wearing expensive shoes!!!

Requiring everyone in the bridal party to buy $1000 shoes is selfish and thoughtless. If I were in that situation I would drop out of the wedding party. Is there any chance that the bride is planning to pay for them as a gift to the bridal party?

DD had her prom this weekend. They did the "Grand March" at the high school so you could see all the couples. I was shocked at some of the high-end shoes some of the girls wore. We're talking 17 & 18-year-olds wearing VERY expensive shoes. So glad my DD is frugal like her Mom! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)
