Is AARP an organization for older folks...or is it a lobby group that markets insurance products for its own ends???

for opposing his medicare plan by saying they are in insurance companies back pockets. Isn't his plan to give medicare to insurance companies? Um, no- that's ObamaCare. Transfer the money directly from taxpayers to Insurance companies. Paul Ryan's plan is to give the money to the CONSUMER, and let the insurance companies COMPETE.

Actually,a voucher made out to the insurance company.Otherwise known as a mandate to buy insurance with it. But my point is why is Ryan using this argument against AARP because they oppose his plan?Seems to me they would financially benefit from it.

AARP is basically a front for insurance companies from what I've seen. All those people who think they have an "AARP plan" have a plan from some insurance company that AARP made a deal with to endorse. It's not always the best (rarely is from what I've seen), it's not the worst either. It's not the cheapest...so why endorse them?

I had nothing but trouble with United Healthcare when my company briefly used them, and AARP sells their name to their products.Paul Ryan's plan would be a money maker for them.

Ryan is attacking them because they oppose his plan for medicare. I don't think him attacking their credibility by saying they are in insurance companies pockets is the best way for him to do it,since they would benefit financially from his plan.

No way.... I never said that...I questioned Ryans method of attack. I think it is counterproductive to what his goal is. IMO,any group or person is not above criticism...even the beloved Sarah.

Remember AARP supported the healthcare overhaul that cuts a half trillion from the program (Medicare) to help pay for adding so many "uninsured" to the healthcare rolls. Personally Im not convinced they havnt thrown members under the bus in supporting Obamacare. Just my 2 cents...
