I guess we know what the Republican campaign focus will be.

Who did you like, Marsha? I liked Cain best, I think. But I have liked him for years. Johnson seemed kind of weak, Pawlenty and Santorum a bit too slick and rehearsed sounding for me, (but maybe one could beat Obama because the country seems to like slick..) Paul... I like him, but can't vote for him because I think he can't beat Obama. Way too early to guess now.

Awesome republican candidates that won’t be around very long, but will be replaced by more viable republican candidates

We get so used to the parsed words and polished "products" that pass for political leaders. It's just nice to hear someone speak right from the heart. In that sense I really wish Christy would consider running. So not looking forward to a retread candidate.

Agreed, both of you. Didn't he say he absolutely would not run, or am I remembering wrong?

Maybe Boehner should have watched this. Oh that's right: "House Speaker John Boehner, the highest-ranking Republican in the country, decided not to watch Thursday night's debate among Republican presidential contenders, the first debate of the 2012 presidential cycle. Hotsheet spotted Boehner at Morton's The Steakhouse on Connecticut Avenue in Washington enjoying a bottle of Cabernet - and a couple of cigarettes." www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20060266-503544.html Too bad that heart has no political experience except as a first term Senator. Sound familiar? Remember: A Republican Presidential candidate having little political experience = GOOD! A Democratic Presidential candidate having little political experience = BAD!

Still saying "jobs" but only actions are going after women's rights? nothing new there..... they won't be happy until women are treated just like they are by the dreaded Muslims they fear so much.... So not having taxpayers fund abortions is the same thing as forced clitorectomies? Really?

Better yet, kitty-- Cain IS black, but he is not one term West. Cain has NO political experience. NONE, except for personally staying involved in politics. He is CEO of Godfather's pizza, and a conservative talker. We like him.

Hmm. . . Businessman and conservative radio host Herman Cain argued his outsider status was one of his strongest assets during the first Republican presidential debate of the 2012 election cycle Thursday night in South Carolina. But while Cain has never occupied elected office, he is no stranger to Washington's world of money in politics. A former chairman of Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and senior adviser to the 1996 presidential campaign of Republicans Bob Dole and Jack Kemp, Cain has regularly opened his wallet for political allies, and he even operates his own political action committee, called the Hermanator PAC. Since the 1990 election cycle, Cain, along with his wife, Gloria, has donated $134,100 to federal candidates, parties and committees, according to research by the Center for Responsive Politics, including $25,600 during the 2010 election cycle. www.opensecrets.org/news/2011/05/herman-cain-touts-outside-status.htmlWell then, he's no outsider.

It's really too early to tell who will come out in front...sometimes it is better not to be the front runner this early on. Of course I have no doubt that any Republican challengers will be FULLY investigated by the media.

True, P_I. Maybe that means these early guys have no skeletons-- or it means they want to see what happens and get out early before their time and money is all gone if it goes bad!! ;D

Excuse you?? My top 2 picks at this time are black conservatives, my hopeful for the NEXT Repub cycle is Cuban American, and I don't vote for tokens. If I did I would have voted Obama.

perhaps you are paving the way to tout Rubio .. with a disingenuous fling about supporting black candidates ... if you are attempting to tout Ruboi ... step up to the plate and do it .. I suspect that young Cubans in Florida think that the creepy anti Castro posturing, wallowed in by the right, is tired sh*t
