Is there any way the system can automatically leave the reply number and everything else in place while deleting the comments only and noting the comments have been deleted due to content?
When you delete the right now, the whole thing disappears along with the reply number and then changes all the reply numbers below. A post deleted several hours after posting and other posters referencing the post/reply # screws up all the following posts.
This is how the old board worked in regards to deleted posts.

unfortunately, i don't think so.... best we could do is remove all contents and leave a note that the contents had been deleted due to violation or whatever.

Since the mods have the ability to edit posts I suspect they are going to be accused by posters of having edited their posts to change what they said. I was accused of that on the MSN boards and the mods there had no ability to edit someone else's posts. We could obviously delete them but we could not edit the posts and personally, I didn't want the ability to edit someone's posts.
Since I suspect it's a function of the way Proboards is set up there's nothing the mods can really do about it except decide how to handle the issue. At the very least as said there should be a note that the post has been edited.
