Best educated of the groups: 49% hold at least a bachelor's degree and 27% have post-graduate experience
This is part of the liberal definition. I'd like to see another stat giving the percentage of how many hold a real job. I do not consider a government job a real job, in case you were wondering.

I changed my "iffy" choices and still came up as Post Modern.

I like your spirit. In any case, my clients think I contribute greatly to their quality of life. Why should a few lousy drunk drivers ruin it for the rest of us good drunk drivers?

I think by forcing you to pick the lesser of two evils in certain questions, it allows the algorithm to slide you into a certain result. like I said in the OP, it's just another type-quiz. have any of you that wanted to say "neither" gone back and selected the other answer for one or more of those questions? I wonder how much it skews the algorithm to place you somewhere else. there really aren't that many questions for the quiz to place you in one of quite a few results. I had no problem with the questions, picked what was the closest explanations of, realizing I could spend a hour arguing fine points on some questions, like , "yes on this , however on this part, I feel yadda, yadda, figure they have that covered in the evaluation.

Every time a company announces a layoff the stock price increases and I make a profit. Right now, the majority of corporations are not hiring and reporting record earnings, and I benefit from it. Energy companies are making a killing and so am I. It’s great being a non-working post-modern.

Oh gosh, I'm a lawyer married to someone with a government job AND we sometimes buy organic.
Shoot fire, what does that say about my political ideology?
(For the record, I prefer Mountain Dew to Coke OR Pepsi)

Interesting quiz! Many of those questions were a gray area for me but I answered them as best I could. Got post-modern. Most of the characteristics describe me pretty well, except for the... um, actually most of them fit me pretty well!

My biggest problem was like... Poor have it easy. Or Poor have it hard. Well... Neither of those is true by my estimation?

To clear up any confusion, I have no problem with a reasonable military. It is a mandate as defined in the Constitution. About 85% of the rest of government is unconstitutional communism.

Most of the questions were hopelessly flawed. For example the first question-- immigrants strengthen the country, or immigrants are a burden. I would say the first, but that wouldn't help you understand where I stand on ILLEGAL immigration, border security, or national security with respect to immigration. Most of the question were this way- either the premise was flawed, or the answers were insufficient to accurately identify one's views.

I fell exactly where I did on the last one of these tests:
Libertarians 9% of the public
What They Believe Economically very conservative but moderate to liberal on social issues Highly critical of government Strongly pro-business Accepting of homosexuality Less religious than the average American Moderate views about immigrants compared to other GOP-oriented groups Who They Are Strong Republican-orientation, though a majority identify as independents Affluent: 39% have incomes of $75,000 or more Two-thirds are male 85% are non-Hispanic whites About seven-in-ten (71%) have attended college About half as likely as the two strongest GOP groups to attend church weekly 56% use social networking sites 36% trade stocks

Most of the question were this way- either the premise was flawed, or the answers were insufficient to accurately identify one's views. I had the same problem with the immigration question, but the explanation in Post-Modern was spot-on with my opinions on immigration. I had answered that I think they strengthen the country, even though I acknowledge that only refers to the legal ones. illegal immigrants threaten the country, IMHO. one of the bullet characteristics for Post-Modern said about the same thing. it's just an online quiz, it's not setting anything in stone for anyone. you already know what your beliefs are, I just thought I'd post it for fun.

But i think that's one of the things 'wrong' with politics today... or these boards at least... lol... there is no room for anything but 'black and white'... I am actually not a 'solid liberal' ... but if i have to go all 'black and white' and pick a side.... then yeah, that's where i'll come in, or be ascribed to.... but there are lots of shades of gray out there... These were stupid questions with stupid answers. Black and white would have been refreshing. How do you answer the one about businesses profits? Business makes too much, or business profits are fair. How about: this isn't a political question. It doesn't matter how much profit business makes because it's not a political decision. So, in determining a person's political leanings- a more appropriate question would be: Government should have some say in what a business makes in profit, or government should have no say...

Too many answers where I didn't really agree with either one, but here are my results (which will be a surprise to most people I am sure):
Based on your responses, YOU are a… New Coalition Democrats 10% of the public
What They Believe •Strongly pro-government •Upbeat about the country's ability to solve problems and an individual's ability to get ahead through hard work •Approve of regulation and environmental protection •More positive about business than other Democratic-oriented groups •Generally liberal on racial issues •Hospitable to immigrants: 78% believe they strengthen society •Very religious and socially conservative Who They Are •56% are Democrats •Majority-minority group: 34% white, 30% black and 26% Latino •About three-in-ten are first or second generation Americans •55% have only a high school education or less •23% are not registered to vote •Only 34% read a daily newspaper •Half are regular volunteers for charity or non-profit groups How this group compares to the rest of the country on key issues … New Coalition Democrats General Public

I also wondered how the 'i feel ok with my finances' type questions worked in to the equation?

I also wondered how the 'i feel ok with my finances' type questions worked in to the equation? It is a little odd of a question to have IMO as well. Maybe people who are ok with their finances are more likely to be of one particular political party or the other....IDK.
