Not sure I would release the video. It would just be something to further inflame the idiots who believed in him. There are enough nut cases now who want revenge. I am sure we have not heard the last of them.

I disagree entirely. I think everythig about the raid except people's faces and equipment used should be released. It was proved in WWII that official combat photographs and movies of what our people were doing helped win the war. It was also proved during the Vietnam war that the back room slants put on stories, movies and photographs by civilian tag-alongs helped lose the war.

The hard core right will still find a way to say that the video is fake or doctored. I do think it is ok for a picture (or a couple) to be released, but to release every aspect of the raid, is just setting the mission up for criticism by the haters.

SweetVirginia, if there is any criticisms to be expected from the right, it is that the troops are being held back by the stupidity behind the rules of engagement.
The real criticisn will be from the left for the hardhness of the troops towards theior adversaries.
In fact right now I am waiting for someone to call out for murder charges and court martialing to be brought against whoever it was that shot and killed bin Laden , , , , who was a defenseless unarmed man.

Fortunately 100% of the people in charge of security are concerned about retaliation. (I mean, who are the 32.4% in the poll who aren't). I would be in the "barely concerned" category. I sort of expect retaliation, but I'm not going to let it bother me enough to stop living or even alter my life over it.

I took not concerned as more "we are safe now". I fully agree with you on how the average American should proceed.

Concerned...as in worrying, fretting, troubled, anxious or obsessing over it. I work close to the front gates of Central Command at MacDill AFB, which would likely be a highly desired target for an attack. If they're going to get me, they're going to get me.

I am worried more about the lone wolf islamist lashing out these days. I worry less in South Florida where I'm pretty much surrounded by Hispanics (Catholics), Jews, and Haitians; but back in Chitown in Naperville where there is a mosque across the street from my favorite Outback, which is in the Wal-Mart / Sam's Club shopping center-- I worry about one of these nutjobs finally cracking and firing off a few rounds. Can't carry up there, so that just compounds the issue.
I worry about it because of the experience I had with the girl of Pakistani descent whose family seems to be in agreement that even though they allegedly don't support what Osama did and was doing, it's "never a good thing when infidels are killing muslims". So, because we are infidels in their minds-- mind you, these are the "moderate" and "non-violent" types-- we didn't have a right to kill Osama who is a muslim. It's no wonder she's no longer on speaking terms with any of them-- she has basically done a reverse disown.
But this little anecdote combined with mourning the world over in muslim countries, and in the Palestinian occupied territories just highlights the muslim problem in the world and I'm afraid we'd be fools not to be somewhat concerned and vigilant when we're out and about.

I read yesterday that Al-Zawahiri is next in line, but also that he lacks the charisma of Bin Laden... then Al Walaki was mentioned, but they say he has the charisma, but lacks the organization skills to be a really good mass murderer. He seems best at recruiting and training, and small disruptions like Hassan... really botched the panty bomber. Oh, goody, can't wait to see who the psychos will put on top next. Maybe Bin Laden can just remain on top forever, since these people are delusional.

Just heard that Pakistan is holding 9 from the compound in the hospital with injuries, and not allowing US access to them. Claims of 12 YO daughter saying her father was shot in cold blood-- denied by US that there was a 12 YO girl there..Now what?? What is Pakistan going to do? What are WE going to do to Pakistan? Yes, Osama is dead-- now what?

Most likely shortened it, doubt we would have won it, just had continued longer , more died , injured, wounded, both sides, the end result, the same.

Palm Beach Paul: I hate to burst your bubble but before 9/11 there was a group that were taking flying lessons in your area. They were also trying to ingrate themselves into the local militia groups. They spoke very good English with little accent and some were believed to attended college here. They all disappeared after 9/11 some were said to have fed the gators but cannot confirm that. Don't be fooled they have little cells in places you would not expect. They also seemed to be well financed.

IMO. the Pakistanleys have zero credability. It is certain they will make up whatever to direct the worlds attention away from the fact that they were complete imbeciles. They certainly have a lot of explaining to do. NO MORE AMERICAN MONEY FOR YOU! And no more Dunkin Donuts franchises either.

There have been stories about bin Laden. Now the historians begin. The one with the juiciest blood curdler may be the one that gets to the classrooms. But this one may be closest to the truth. Yesterday, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney issued a revised "narrative" of the raid, courtesy of the Defense Department. It says the commandos started "on the first floor of the Bin Laden house and worked their way to the third floor." The people who fired at the commandos died on the first floor. Bin Laden was upstairs and "was not armed."
A reporter asked Carney "which of those women was being used a human shield, as Mr. Brennan suggested yesterday." Carney answered: "The woman I believe you're talking about might have been the one on the first floor who was caught in the crossfire. Whether or not she was being used as a shield or trying to use herself as a shield or simply caught in crossfire is unclear." What's clear is that Bin Laden, who was upstairs, couldn't have used her as a shield.
Carney blamed the misleading early reports on the "fog of war." But a fog of war creates confusion, not a consistent story like the one about the human shield. The reason U.S. officials bought and sold this story is that it fit their larger indictment of Bin Laden. It reinforced the shameful picture of him hiding in a mansion while sending others to fight and die. It made him look like a coward.
This is the narrative that's really at stake. A narrative isn't just a chronology. It's a tale woven with themes. For 20 years, Bin Laden peddled a tale of oppression and jihad. In elaborate video and audio messages, he depicted al-Qaida's trail of bombings as a Muslim struggle against Western persecution. He wasn't just a terrorist. He was a storyteller. www.slate.com/id/2293009/?GT1=38001

www.theblaze.com/stories/imam-vows-revenge-against-western-dogs-for-bin-laden-death/Ynetnews: An imam from the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem vowed to take revenge over “the western dogs” for killing Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Pakistan on Sunday. In a Youtube video uploaded by the imam he said: “The western dogs are rejoicing after killing one of our Islamic lions. From Al-Aqsa Mosque, where the future caliphate will originate with the help of God, we say to them – the dogs will not rejoice too much for killing the lions. The dogs will remain dogs and the lion, even if he is dead, will remain a lion.” The imam then verbally attacked US President Barack Obama saying: “You personally instructed to kill Muslims. You should know that soon you’ll hang together with Bush Junior.”
