Her brother expressed sympathy for bin Laden and she is now no longer on speaking terms with him. Her father tried to stick up for him, and she will now no longer speak to him. And she told her mother to be very careful what she says next. They must apologize and renounce Osama and terrorism or she will have no family-- that's her pronouncement.

Osama's former sister in law, had been married to a brother was interviewed on CNN last evening from Switzerland where she lives with her daughter, she has been divorced 10 years now, and is very sympathetic to the USA and feels for us, met him a few times in S Arabia, said he was very religious, was going back and forth to Afghanistan, must have been the time the Soviets were there, before the split with S Arabia over the USA having troops there, that started this whole mishogos, and said that in the culture of Muslims, Saud's blood is thicker, so felt the family was in morning for his death. I can understand that but also understand that they could be that way and still not condone his actions, two separate things here, loss of a son,{mother lives in Saudi Arabia, brother, same with Brothers } yet still condemn his, Osama's, actions. She has kept the family name even though many if not all of the family has changed the name, because of her daughter, decided to rather be talked behind their back, mother , daughter, "Oh I know their name is XYZ but they changed it, it was Ben laden yadda , yadda}, would rather explain that she was not in sympathy of, in fact condemned it, very westernized ,...and appreciate that Americans , Swiss have not held the association against her or her daughter.

Who is her brother? Who is her father? Who is her mother? (I think full names would be helpful, and perhaps a link to the article where this came from?)

"her" is some gal at some party (new years?) who was the girlfriend of some guy at the party who made a comment that paul liked and reported here.

PBP continues to express his amazement that Americans with non-american ancestry/non-christian religion might still express common american sentiments. He apparently lives in a world where people never assimilate & become american, even though pretty much everyone assimilates within 1-2 generations.

So we're celebrating a family feud started because the brother said something the sister didn't like? Are we supposed to be celebrating that she went all whoop ass on them cause she's "assimilated" American values whereas allegedly they have not? Are we supposed to be thrilled that her political ideology matches the OP's more than her brother's? I am really confused.

I didn't get her first name, but if she was a former sister in law living in Switzerland , a attractive older woman, very well spoken, and very sharp. I didn't know she had a published autobiography, will google her , possible more on her, a wicki possible..good interview. Found this "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmen_bin_Ladin"

I hope they don't kill her. Let us not deny that Muslim girls here DO get murdered by their own families....

I think we all know there are lots of murders everywhere. The issue here is that our culture does not sanction or condone the murder of women (and men) for breaking social taboos, and theirs does...in this country, we punish people who kill other people maliciously.

Their culture as a whole does not sanction these murders either. There is a small percentage that does, but you can't hold an entire group accountable for the lunacy of a few.

Numbers 31:17-18 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Numbers+31&version=KJVDeuteronomy 22:22 If a man is found sleeping with another man's wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die. You must purge the evil from Israel. bible.cc/deuteronomy/22-22.htmLeviticus 20:10 If a man commits adultery with another man's wife--with the wife of his neighbor--both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death. bible.cc/leviticus/20-10.htmAren't we all glad that in this culture, we don't treat our holy book as the gospel truth? ;D

...as all Christians are helf accountable for a few crazy ones?? Just last week I read on this board that a poster thinks all Catholics are child molesters. He said it right out loud. Deal is-- SOME Christians may do cruel things if their kids back off the religion, like shun them, but I don't recall in recent times murders of family members over a lapse of Christianity. Just saying-- hope this lady watches her back.

People that would mourn Bin Laden are DEFINITELY people that would murder for Islam. Right?

One of his blood sons turned against him and a couple of wives. Seems he had a bunch of wives and an army of children. Didn't spend all his time blowing things up. Interesting that some wives devorced him. I did not think that was allowed in Islam culture.

I've seem that son on TV. Good looking man, well spoken. Not sure I would turn my back on him, but he does seem a lot more moderate than his father.

I don't hold all Christians accountable for the things some Christians do.... however, when the establishment and authority SANCTION the actions, by covering them up, and not punishing the guilty or offering the guilty up for punishment, and allowing them to change parishes and keep doing the same thing... then i DO find the establishment and authority to be guilty as well...
