Went and saw part one of Atlas Shrugged Sunday. It was like watching the 6:00 o'clock news with a speech by the President thrown in. Scary really. Wonderful acting, great cinematography. Faithfully follows the book scene after scene. One character says to Hank Reardon: "All you care about is making money." Hank Reardon replies: "All I care about is making money."

A President Obama robo-speech thrown in? How could it not be scary? "My fellow Americans, The Federal Reserve is working diligently... to curb inflation and restore America to her former prosperity. They shall not fail. But in the event that they do fail, I guarantee you... all Americans will be able to find secure jobs... fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and eventually Jordan, Iran, Turkey, and the UAE. Your loved ones will be safely housed... in FEMA trailers that my Czar of National Calamity assures me will be ready... if and when an inflationary disaster that cannot occur... occurs."

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie. As for the Bush/Cheney/Obama issue:

The film is set in 2016. They regularly have snippets of news broadcasts on television. In one, the reporter is announcing that gas is above $35.00 a gallon.
Interesting. I've never seen a movie in two parts. I've been to some long films:
The Longest Day Grand Prix Seven Samauri Mad Mad World
I seem to recall that The Longest Day was so long that it had two intermissions, but still the entire film happened in one showing.
In the scene where Wesley Mouch is at a press conference announcing the passage of the Dog-Eat-Dog bill by Congress, you can close your eyes and see President Obama.

The Longest Movie I can think of is the Sound of Music - It seems my wife has to watch it every time it comes on TV so for me it is like it's been playing for years!

'SPARTACUS' was quite long as well. Still a great film! The Naval fight scene was a good one.
