...the number of 'My' threads on the board.
MuscleUp is now the official patent holder.

Interesting response to a one day My thread fest. So any other thread default icons we can look forward to? Something if Smurf is mentioned in the thread title?

As if MU didn't have a swelled-head already, having his very own Icon is going to make it literally explode !! ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) ![](http://www.fuchsiamac.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/head-exploding.jpg)

The 'My' muscleup icon is just a one-day thing too. Unless the "one day My thread fest" turns into a week-long jamboree. Which "one day fests" have been known to do on EE. Happy Birthday, BTW. I had a present for you... a nice one... but a snow leopard ate it. ![](http://media.funsmileys.com/smileys/happy050.gif)

Did you notice another Snow Leopard rebel in your presence?
The resurgence has started.

After yesterday, I felt a sudden (more than likely temporary) sense of solidarity with Muscles. He's just a man with an ideal... trying to fit in with a community that can be so very cruel when it wants to be. ![](http://media.funsmileys.com/smileys/sad002.gif)

Optimist - If you don't want the MU icon on your threads, put in one yourself. It only works on those threads with the standard icon.

And what made you pick up on the snow leopard? Was it after Alicia said that in a future life she would love to be a snow leopard? Idle wish, yes, but still a wish. Seems to me that you stomped all over that one. ![](http://media.funsmileys.com/smileys/sad002.gif)

Virg - after the crap MUD posted on Rovo's thread about losing his dog...I have even less use for MUD (and I really didn't think that was possible). Fine if your not a dog person (Doc isn't either), but if you can't say something nice when someone is mourning the loss of a beloved pet (Doc was respectful of the loss), the just shut the E up. Since I only read what was quoted by others, I was lucky enough to miss the bulk of his swill. I did see enough to confirm (once again) that MUDs promises of change have as much value as Zimbabwe currency.

She was an engineer! Don't you get it, SBS? You're an engineer. You can understand. She would forsake all of her creative faculties, all of her technical prowess, her mastery of applied sciences to become what? What? A parasite-infested ball of fur. From building vessels capable of carrying entire civilizations to other worlds... to an overstuffed cat that couldn't move a 20 pound rock six feet, even if it knew what a "rock" was, or could comprehend quantifiable distance. From designing circuitry so intricate that trillions of calculations can be completed in one second on a wafer the size of a grain of sand... to a snarling, impulse-driven beastie with a fifteen year lifespan and a one-way ticket to extinction. I could understand if some yahoo off the street thought, "Oh, they're so cute and fuzzy. Oh, I'd have a nice warm coat on all the time. Oh, I could get up in the morning and not have a care in the world." Yahoos can think like that. They just... they just don't know any better, I guess. But Alicia was an engineer. That shook me. It shook me to the core. And the only thing that makes sense... is that the snow demons did something to her. They corrupted her somehow. I don't yet fully understand the mechanism by which it occurs, but it seems to have spread to various corners of EE now. And I'm largely to blame. My crusade for justice has inadvertently spread their taint to other poor souls like Optimist. Lassie. Mich. Trix. TD. The list goes on. Even moon. ![](http://media.funsmileys.com/smileys/sad002.gif) Can you people not see what I see? That's... all I can say for right now. I gave it a bit of extra thought about fifteen minutes ago and decided that getting rid of the "My" infestation wasn't worth a pro-MU attitude. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I do understand HER and I am really surprised as an engineer you wouldn't want to experience a different viewpoint alien to your current circumstances. Just think what you could learn. Thank God I never said what animal I wanted to be.

Perhaps how to survive? Do you think the majority of humans today could survive after a major catastrophe? I think not, which is why there are so many social programs and charities out there. Humans are weak creatures who are lucky enough to have opposable thumbs and minds. We've learned and thrived from watching nature and its creatures and adapted it to suit our needs. Now, I don't believe in reincarnation, but if she could see something to gain in being another creature (and I'm sure she did; Alicia is one smart gal), then it shouldn't have been made to become a huge joke. It's the dreamers who innovate things. We would never have learned to fly if someone hadn't wanted to be a bird. We would never have learned to go fast if someone hadn't wanted to be a horse (power is still measured in horsepower). We would never have... Never mind. I'm done.

Diary of a Snow Leopard (Assuming the uncia held the capacity to identify and catalog their thoughts, which they don't, and assuming they could write, which they can't.)Day 1: Licked my butt clean again today. Found something new. Waxy. Didn't taste very good. Learned what it tasted like, though. Day 2: Still no food. Saw a rabbit and chased it. It ran down a hole. Waited for sixteen hours for it to come out. It didn't. Learned that I hate rabbits. Day 3: Found a dead squirrel! Jackpot! No learning goal today. I think I'll celebrate by climbing a tree somewhere and sleeping until my stomach hurts again. Day 4: Passed a kidney stone today. Ouch. But a good learning experience. Day 5: Saw another leopard today. My mother. Or was it my sister? Aunt? Probably all three, what with my family's "problem" and all. Chased her away. She can get her own patch of land. These two square kilometers are mine to piss away my existence. It's not like I'm ever going to leave them. Day 6: Was lying on my back with my friend, Vulpie the fox. We were looking up at the stars. He claims they're "fireflies, stuck up on that big bluish-black thing". I ate him. At least I know what stars are now. ... ETA: Thx Peach. Back atcha! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I doubt that the experience of being a snow leopard is anything at all like your fake diary description. You are entitled to your opinion but so was Alicia. I did a quick search to find a book to refute your made up diary but found this instead. Happy Wine. ;D ![](http://www.snowleopardconservancy.org/pics/help/longlable.jpg)

I think Virgil has a crush on Alicia and that's why he is so concerned about her throwing away her technical prowess and other engineering skills to become a snow leopard ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

The experience is exactly like my description, minus the obvious license in Day 6 (the uncia have no friends, nor can they communicate verbally, nor do they contemplate the nature of the stars). We've all watched too many (thousand) happy cartoons where animals are reduced to "humans in costume". But philosophers of old--Plato, Kant, Hobbes, and others--called it for what it was: nasty, brutish animal barbarism. ![](http://boards.msn.com/Themes/default/emoticons/red_smile.gif) (Virgil is happily married, BTW. To a Mrs. Virgil who thinks snow leopards are "adorable". ![](http://media.funsmileys.com/smileys/unwell001.gif) )
