I filled out Form 1127 for the first time ever this year as I did not have enough money to pay my federal taxes in full unless I wanted to go homeless in under two months. I have a couple of questions. 1) How often do they grant the 6 month extension to pay for someone like myself whose savings will only last a couple more months? (I am currently unemployed except for the smallest PT job ever - no assigned hours and expectation of at most 6 hours a month.) I asked for the 6 month extension because the instructions suggested it was the max I would be likely to be granted. The job I get next will have to be soon and pay in the ballpark of my old wages for me to pull it off. I also have car repair expenses I am delaying on as well. 2) If when I get my next fulltime job it looks like I really need 9 months to pay can/should I file another 1127 form and ask for an extension or should I just call the number for the facility that will make the decision? Thanks!

OK, so if I run out of time before I have all the money to pay I can file for an installment request. Thanks!
