I am sitting here listening to the rain falling and it takes me back to a time that I was living at a camp in Western Washington and working as an outdoor educator. Fond memories of a time I was doing something I absolutely loved.
My wife is sitting here working to post pictures of her daughter on Facebook by 7:45 am, the time she was born 44 years ago. Fond memories of a person she absolutely loves.
So, what sparks fond memories for you?

I love this thread topic. can't wait to read everyone's responses. oh, and happy birthday to your daughter!
I may add to this, but the first thing that comes to mind is the desktop photo on both my laptop and tablet. it was taken from the back deck of the summer cottage where I grew up. the view is of the bay at low tide, with the sandbar in the distance just barely peeking out above the water. that little cottage is only about 6mi from where I currently live, but it's no longer in the family. so many memories were made here, good and bad. many more good, though.

I enjoy remembering going to my grandparents house for Sunday dinner. It was an open invitation and Grandma always said there was room for more. We would walk in to the smell of freshly baked blueberry pies because that is what grandpa liked and he got the first piece served to him by Grandma ever Sunday. Lots of aunts, uncles and cousins would be there. It was always fun. There was a player piano in the living room and we would sometimes gather there and sing together. In the summer, everyone gathered on the front porch that stretched along the side of the house. Two porch swings. Lots of love. Always freshly baked bread and the food was wonderful. I can see the crank phone behind Grandma's chair and the huge round dining room table where there was always room to squeeze together. I can also smell the two seater outhouse.

Seems the good memories are triggered by our senses.
For me, the smell of tar of hot roads reminds me of going to the Old Lyme, Connecticut beach on Long Island Sound as a kid with my family. When I could smell the tar, I knew we were not far from the beach.

My daughter is now at the University I graduated from - we stayed out at the bars and clubs the last two nights. It brought back fuzzy memories 🤪🤪
