Baseball great Pete Rose died today.
Blocked from the baseball hall of fame for gambling, time to enter Rose now posthumously.

Dikembe Mutombo as well. As a Georgetown graduate, I think he is a great example of someone taking advantage of his opportunities and doing good in the world. Went back home, opened a hospital and was a great ambassador for his country. Died to soon at 58

Just found out one of our local community leaders is in end-of-life care. Never on television or in movies. Didn't play an instrument nor played well with sports equipment. Is a solid human being who will be missed and deserves recognition.

Oogie Boogie actor, Ken Page has died.
Was there, or is there, something in the air?

My godmother passed away several week ago. She was well known in western Massachusetts. For years, she had her own local tv show and wrote newspaper columns almost up to the time of her passing.
She wrote her own obituary because she said no one knew her better than herself. And she wrote that she did not know how old she was when she died nor the date of her death: because she wrote her own obituary ahead of time. She told her daughters they were not allowed to fill in the blanks (age at death and date of death.)
She was quite the character.

When I was a kid, she scared the crap out of me. Her personality always hit me like a tidal wave. Had not seen her in like 40 years. A childhood friend of mine told me she passed away. My friend also knew she scared me as a kid.)
