It has been a wild weekend here.  We barely missed having a direct hit from Helene.  We were super lucky that it took a wiggle to the east after landfall.  We are about 50 mi. NNW of Valdosta, Ga....so if you saw how much damage they had there, you can see what we missed.  Our power was out for about 18 hours but we have a generator that was running the whole house.  Our well decided it didn't like running off the generator after about 12 hrs. so we were without water for awhile.  It came back when our power came back on.  We didn't have internet until late this afternoon & our phones are still messed up.  The internet comes/goes on them...no idea when they will be fixed.  I spent most of Wed. & Thur. getting ready for this storm.  I filled all the old milk jugs I've saved with water & put them in the freezers (we have both a chest freezer & an upright freezer) so they would help keep things frozen while the power was off.  I made sure we had plenty of peanut butter & jelly & I made a big batch of ham salad for sandwiches too...and popped some popcorn for snacks.  We made extra sweet tea too...just in case.  Our biggest damage was some big limbs & branches down.  DH has been going around with our mower/tractor & a trailer picking those up & putting them in our fire pit.  We can still burn out here.  
We were just sooooooo lucky again.

uncle23 is still leading at the end of day two. djAdvocate is second and clarkrl2 third. I adjusted the Monday open for HELFY to 2.50. The Yahoo historical data still has 2.58 however looking at the 5day chart it says the open was 2.50. Barchart also had 2.50 for the open on their 5-day chart.

Congrats to Uncle & Clark...and wonder of wonders...we all beat the bench mark!

Thank you Clark for the prayers.  It is just sooooo horrible what has happened in so many places.  The death count is now up to 215 and it could still go higher...and I'm talking about the results of hurricane Helene.  And now, there may be more coming...need to watch what is happening in the Gulf.
