Video at link, it is short, under two and a half minutes. I think one conservative summed up their white male outrage - he looks like he is going to a party at the Hamptons.

Its probably too early for other posts, but one fun thing in the video is they found an image of Ronald Reagan wearing the same color tan suit when in office in an official meeting.

Obama wearing a tan suit did not bother me, but I found it interesting so many people chose to be upset by it. Being me, I did spend some time reading about other people's reactions in the media and RL and came up with my guesses. One of my thoughts was some of the richer conservative white folk thought 'How dare he dress like he could hang with us in the Hamptons?"

The real problem was that Obama was boring. His life was clean, and his ability to do anything was proudly and loudly halted by McConnell- so what else was there to talk about. They had to talk about his suit and his wife’s arms and any other stupid shit they could come up with.

I think you were right in that he was clean and no obvious scandals. I hate the revisionist history I am seeing about Michele and the sleeveless dress. Now they are trying to sell the idea that they were all jealous of her toned arms. BS. The complainers were used to white women as the first spouse, and they did not want or understand a nice educated black woman who happened to be tall and have an athletic build.

It was just a tan suit than you see white guys wear in the summer so the weirdness and uproar about it really surprised me.

I still have the images of a woman being interviewed right after Trump won the presidency in 2016 saying that she was so glad Trump won because now we would have a ‘classy’ First Lady.

That somehow got tattooed on my brain, I think because of how made it made me.

That bugged me big time. I don't know what's classy about being a GF to a rich man while he is still married to his second wife. And what is classy as a POTUS spouse when you got a green card because you were a model? And not a top level model big name model, but a second tier one posing for images that might be seen in porn films? What is classy about that?

Michele was the first well educated women with an athletic build that became FLOTUS. She was the only one that seemed close to who I am. I am nowhere near as tall and did not go to Harvard or law school, but I felt I could relate to her as person more than any other FLOTUS in my life. I think I am not alone in that, and many women like me appreciated her high low approach to fashion. It did not have to be all about American designers showcasing clothes on her body, it could be her style using things from Target or other stores many of us frequent too.

Yes, but its time to get the hypocrites owning their crap. Scgal basically stated the Trump supporter motto - our team over country, over other GOPers, over Democrats especially. If it is "us" it is good; if it is anyone else it is bad. 

And then they want to tell me it's about policy. Lie to yourselves if you want. I did not buy it in 2015, I did not buy it in 2019/2020 and I am actively rejecting it now in 2024.
