Mom and DN3 are lefties. J is ambidextrious. It's amazing to watch him use both hands.
My left hand doesn't know how to do much useful stuff.

Mom and DN3 are lefties. J is ambidextrious. It's amazing to watch him use both hands. My left hand doesn't know how to do much useful stuff.I always said my left hand was only good for holding the phone to my ear. Then one night falling down while roller skating (at old age of 48) and sticking out my left hand to break my fall I found out how much my left hand actually did. 8 weeks in a cast taught me it was more useful than I thought  I was driving stick at the time and I had to take right hand off steering wheel to shift and only finger tips of left hand to steer! Got good at steering with my knees  |

I'm left handed, but only for writing. Everything else, like batting or throwing a ball...right handed. I couldn't use a left-handed scissors or desk to save my life in school.

I'm a "saved" lefty, thanks to my kindergarten teacher....at a public school in the early 80s.  that said, I'm pretty solidly ambidextrous and tend to do things in the "handedness" of whoever taught me the skill as a kid. I tie my shoelaces the exact mirror opposite of how my dad would tie them for me - I learned to replicate exactly what I saw. |

I must come from a unicorn nest: 3 of my parents' 7 kids are lefties.
My DB2 was "saved" at school. However, he had a terrible time. Mom was convinced he had so much trouble because he spend all his time concentrating on using his right hand that she did not allow Dsis3 and me to be saved as well. Very few, if any, people ever had heard about dyslexia 70 years ago, the actual cause of my brother's problems.
In keeping with family tradition one of my two kids is ambidextrous and one of my two grandkids is a lefty

I found a left handed store the first time I went to London so I bought my mom some kitchen items. She was so excited to have left handed scissors and potato peeler. She didn't know left handed utensils existed.

DS is a lefty. I do not recall anyone else in my family being left handed. His paternal grandmother is.
