I am starting this thread to document what happened in NJ from June 2024 onwards. It is also for me to see what happened in other parts of the country.
JUNE
Primary Tuesday June 4
Juneteenth Wednesday June 19th
First day of Summer June 20th (Thursday)
First debate televised debate between Biden and Trump Tuesday June 25th
TMI? Personally for me Thursday June 27th was a horrible day. Severe lack of sleep, hope I got at least 4 hours, went to work anyway Would remove TMI but a poster already chose to misinterpret it. NJ has been hitting records for the last couple years nonstop per climate stuff. This was partially a note to myself that whenever I really hurt my knee was likely around this time or prior. Allergens are no longer on any usual schedule I can prepare for. Might edit this out later.

Celebrating Juneteenth for only the second time ever gave some employees and some customers agita.
What is Juneteenth about anyway? Its in the middle of the week, which annoys some longtime employees
Juneteenth is now an official bank holiday in the US, and yes in the middle of the week instead of the usual moved to Monday to celebrate, giving some bank employees a two-day weekend to look forward to.

Meanwhile in NJ ... The intention of this thread is to explore how NJ and other parts of the country experienced recent events which led to Biden saying he would not run for re-election. www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-primary-elections/calendar#pastIt appears the NJ is one of four states & DC who do their primaries last. This list includes Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota, and the District of Columbia Eagle eyed posters will notice the very last is the Virgin Islands and with-it Guam whose status only allows it to pick delegates, not even vote for a candidate. DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CAUCUS (Guam)

Uuummm, I am reasonably certain that my calendar says it is July 22nd today. How is a discussion about Juneteenth and anyone's sleep or lack thereof relevant to political discussions?
I know I can easily be confused (or at least pretend that I am) but this is more than just a little off.

I think it might be the start of a TimeLine. Noting dates when stuff happens (so July will have the assassination attempt, Biden getting covid, Biden saying not accepting the nomination, maybe some donation dollar milestones, maybe things the Republican party does/says...)
With the intent of "being reminded" of the past as we get closer to Election Day. One of the problems with social media and TV news is that they happen in a vacuum. They rarely follow up on things that happened in the past, they often latch on to something that gets people riled up rather than some "boring but important" info, and they rarely convey any sort of actual information.
I can see where a timeline of sorts can be important when having to make decisions - don't want to get caught up in the noise right before making the decision and then give that noise more weight than all the other info that came before...

Bomb Threat via email at Monmouth University per breaking news on NJ12.
Monmouth University is a community college in Monmouth College. Posters might know it for its polls. Hope this is not a political thing. Tony Caputo interviewed an intern renting a room there for the summer. She said rooms were searched by the police. Lockdown has been lifted.

Yes, they are fine. I think someone just wanted to be an ass and rattle the university's cage.
