Actress Taraji P. Henson called out Trump while hosting Sunday’s ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

“[This is] a show packed full of all-stars with Black jobs. Whatever that means,” she said sarcastically. “But clearly we know there’s a difference — thanks for the info, but we already knew it.”

Not everyone was pleased with the segment. Some on social media found it cringey, considering Trump’s offensive comments. One user argued that the segment mocked blue-collar workers.

a "black job" is any job that Trump thinks a black person is losing to an immigrant.

Obviously he means low level minimum wage jobs that he thinks black people are solely qualified for.  

The guy is still living in 1860.

trump is known for hiring foreign workers and non-union workers then under paying them. It's "good business" according to him. Sue him and he'll tie you up in court until you run out of funds.

Trump seems to be constantly signaling to his base.  That guy is definitely living in the past, where women knew their "place", and non-white people worked the most back-breaking jobs.  


It's hard to believe in this century that so many people think that was a good way to live (NOT!).

This part of his comment shouldn't be forgotten:

"... And you haven’t seen it yet, but you’re going to see something that’s going to be the worst in our history,” Trump said on Thursday night.

What haven't we seen yet? What is going to be worse than we have seen in our past? So he is talking about "them" taking jobs in relationship to race and ethnicity. How have we seen that happening in our past? There was a time in history when the concern was that Southern European immigrants were taking jobs traditionally held be Northern Europeans. And there was certainly the time that all elected officials were one race, including the presidency. So Trump is saying those, or something like them, were bad but what will be coming is even worse than immigrants taking jobs from Blacks or Hispanics. The only conclusion I can see is that he is saying it will be them taking jobs from White people. There is your dog whistle.

What I find interesting is Immigrants (scary brown people per Trump) are now allegedly taking jobs from other Hispanics, POC. I feel does not compute if you compare Hispanic immigrants coming in to HIspanics already here. Whose jobs are they stealing exactly?

FWIW, my data point of the healthcare facility is most food service, housekeeping, and HHAS, CNAS are almost entirely POC. Heads of Housekeeping speak Spanish fluently as its considered a job requirement. This of course is NJ in my experience. My employer was so large that Gov Murphy spoke to the owner along with the other three largest senior living communities on how housing COVID patients triage might happen in that space. No idea about the hospitals but I'm sure those talks happened first.

The news reported locally that the CareOne facility in Parsippany or Morristown had a fire/smoke so bad it cleared the facility. Have no idea what happened but probably worse than my usual experience of new AL residents burning toast, microwave mishaps and some real bad smoke detector placements.

In my CN&*1 facility almost the entire HHA/Aide staff on AL was POC. Usually a "black" job as Trump might say. Lots of Haitians, cuz well Haiti and more from the Caribbean Islands in food service, CNAs on the skilled nursing side.

I have worked under two black POC head receptionists and probably more than one falling into the Hispanic category. I am lazy so I don't generally ask about immigration status unless they offer it up. But you can kinda tell by the "my country" talk at the break room who might be here to make $$$ faster and hopefully retire back home.
And those who came from Europe or other countries and came for tax, social programs or family reasons.
