I'm not even sure where to start, because there have been so many changes LOL!
I think the last time I was on here I was talking about my partner. We purchased a house last year. It is quite the fixer-upper but he’s handy and really likes doing that work. I just paint and cheer him on from the sidelines LOL. Living with someone after almost a decade of not living with someone was quite the adjustment for me, but we have wonderful communication and we've been able to talk out any problems or issues that we might have. He has an awesome relationship with my son, and he seems to be a really positive influence on him. We got married last month, and it was amazing. Very small and low-key, but it was everything we could have asked for.
DS is going to be 13 next month…. it's so weird to say out loud, because I remember him being so tiny in the hospital just like it was yesterday. He is taller than I am, and I am not short! He hasn't started with the girls, but the girls are definitely trying to start with him. I'm not ready for that yet, LOL.
Things are going okay on the job front. There's a lot of politics that are preventing me from getting bumped up a pay grade. It's hard to see that other people are doing a lot less work than I am and getting paid much more, so I'm trying to pick up some other data analyst skills and SQL to see if I can pivot to something more lucrative. DH is trying to get me into Tech, but I just don't know enough yet or feel comfortable enough to make the leap. There are some things that I could probably do with just my knowledge alone, but I want to make sure I'm setting myself up for success. I'm aware that I am 41 so I need to Pivot sooner rather than later if I'm going to.
Anyways all that's to say things are chugging along, and I'm at a really good spot in my life. I feel like I can finally exhale. When I first started talking to this group there was a lot of turmoil going on, but my life is very boring now and I love it LOL. I can't believe some of you guys have kids now that have graduated high school and college in some cases!! How are you guys doing?

Congratulations! Marriage, house, and 13-year-old boy! Good to see you back.
Quick comment on pivoting at the age of 41... You don't have to be in a rush to do it, I pivoted at the ripe old age of 49. But the sooner you pivot, the sooner you get those higher paychecks, so yeah, I'd do it sooner rather than later. Even if just to put that extra money into tax deferred retirement funds.

Honestly, I was wondering about how you were. I didn't want to ask though since we know what happens when you do that.

Even if just to put that extra money into tax deferred retirement funds. oh absolutely! DH and I make decent money, but we only started making decent money in the last 3-4 years and are very behind on our retirement savings. Plus the house needs updating and we both need new(er) cars soon-ish.... yeah, I could definitely use a significant pay increase to help take care of all those things and help to pay off the house faster. Our goal is to have it paid off before DS graduates HS, then either rent it out or sell it. I don't want to be too far from here since I have a strong feeling DS will go to college in state, but we are over the HCOL and want to live somewhere less expensive - even if it means renting a condo in PA or DE until we ultimately retire.

Hey! I'm so glad you checked in. Sounds like life is treating you well. Hope you'll continue to stop by. We've had a number of friends here "disappear", so it's good that you reappeared.
