When the oven clicked off this morning as TD was making biscuits, he finally is on board with getting a new stove. My criteria…..induction, and few/no push pad controls, I want knobs.
I was looking at Bosch, since our dishwasher has done so well. Costco has 2 models. I’m not wedded to Bosch, so does anyone have an induction range that they like? Reliability is important too.

I've never had an induction one. Do you have a NYT subscription? Has Wirecutter reviewed induction stoves?

I agree with reading reviews on any appliance. It has kept me from making a mistake or two...

I've also never had an induction. Thinking I might get a single burner for my camper to try them out. I've never used the propane stove because I don't like the idea of the open flame in such a small space. Plus, I could take it outside and use it.
If I were looking for my home, I'd just see what Costco offers and choose one. They are on sale right now, including Bosch.

I got a chance to use an induction cooktop while on the cruise during a cooking class. I jumped off the gas bandwagon after that. The only drawback for induction is that it’s run on electricity and we lose power often enough that cooking can be an issue. Right now, the ways around it is using the side burner on our gas grill, and lower wattage appliances (eg crock pot) which will work when we use the generator. Unless we upgrade the generator, it’s not sufficient to run the stove.

It probably wouldn't be safe if she did as she's so used to putting paper towels down on the cooktop under her pots to catch any overflows.

We have a Fridgidare (sp?) at the cabin where I am now. It's been in place for about 1.5 years and no complaints from the guests. DH really likes it. But it is flush with the push pads. Is there a reason you want knobs? I like how easy it is to keep clean without the effort of having to pull off and clean around the knobs.

It’s easier to grab a knob and turn it up or down rather than find a button to press for control. Secondly, it’s another piece of electronics to break.

We have had a kitchen aide induction cooktop for over 10 years. No knobs or buttons. Would not voluntarily go back. Works great, boils water in under 2 minutes except when boiling water for pasta. Have had no issues. Highly recommend induction

We have had a Bosch induction cooktop for almost 10 years. Wouldn't trade it for a standard cooktop. Heats fast. Easy to clean, no knobs or buttons.

I keep going back to the Bosch induction range on Costco’s web site. Unfortunately, I lose my frying pan storage with this stove.

Get that stove from Costco. Buy a hook for the wall to hang your frying pans from.

My tip is: pay attention to the location of the electric receptacle you will need when you switch to electric from gas.
DH and I did not pay attention when we did our kitchen remodel. The electrician placed a floor mounted receptacle. Once the double oven range came in, we realized we needed a wall mounted receptacle. We got to pay for both of them.
Knobs are not foolproof. My KitchenAid range had a plastic knob break. $40 for one knob to replace it. They look metallic, but they are just plastic. Look for a well insulated oven. We changed out the builder grade Whirlpool stove for a KitchenAid and were very happy that the kitchen didn't heat up so much anymore.

We changed out the builder grade Whirlpool stove for a KitchenAid and were very happy that the kitchen didn't heat up so much anymore. We currently don’t have gas, which was a sticking point for me. This was the builder’s house and he lived here with his family for several years before TD. He built several houses in this development and he did not run a gas line to the stove only of his house, the 3 other houses of people I know all had gas lines run. Everything else is gas, so it made no sense. We priced it out and it would have cost a couple hundred to run a gas line to the kitchen, not that big of a deal, but a moot point for me now. Even a plastic knob is cheaper to replace than a touch control system. The Bosch induction stove has disappeared from Costco’s web site. I think the LG is Plan B. Big plus it has 5 areas of heat on the cook top, a decent high intensity burner and a drawer under it. I do want to go see it.

We went to Costco yesterday to see if any were in the store. Only one induction stove, a Samsung. I looked this morning after seeing this post, not there. Then I changed zip codes and it was in the new zip code (for Baltimore). I changed it back to WA, and the stove was there.
