TIL that there is a movie that just showed at Cannes called The Apprentice that depicts the early Trump years, with Sebastian Stan playing Trump. It got an 8 minute standing ovation and there is talk of an Oscar for Stan. Unfortunately for the billionaire who helped finance the movie, it does not show Trump in a completely flattering light. It shows him assaulting/raping his wife Ivana, and getting liposuction, for example. variety.com/2024/film/news/donald-trump-movie-the-apprentice-dan-snyder-feud-1236010060/Not sure when it will be in theaters. Not sure I want to see it, even if Stan does a wonderful job. (kind of sick to death of Trump). Curious, though, if it does show Trump in a negative light, if it would impact the vote. Kind of doubt it. If a Trump minion hasn’t decided not to vote for Trump by now, not sure there is anything that would change his mind, and probably the Trump minions will consider a movie more Holly wood liberal bullshit. |

Trump campaign says it will sue. Election interference.
The film focuses on how Roy Cohn taught Trump the rules of engagement to ‘attack, attack, attack’ and doesn’t talk about his political career.
Doesn’t matter though because they haven’t found an American distributor yet. At least not until after the election, and only if Trump loses.
