I follow a page on FB, where there are cameras set up to watch a pair of bald eagles. They have recently given up on their second set of eggs since I’ve been following them. I think their last viable eggs were in 2021, which was before I discovered and started following them. I enjoy the page because I am in awe of how they work together as a “couple”, especially when they have eggs to protect. Dad runs intruders away when they get too close to the nest, but he wants his time every day to sit on the nest too. He often brings Mom’s treats like fish for her to eat, or twigs to add to the nest when he comes for “his” time. And sometimes they fuss because Mom doesn’t really want to give up her spot sitting on the eggs yet, but he insists and Mom finally flies away and lets him have it. They also fuss some more sometimes when Mom comes back and Dad isn’t ready to give up his spot covering the eggs. I have learned a lot, just by following them. It was interesting seeing how when Mom and the nest got covered in snow, everything was just fine, because they are built to be able to endure those kind of conditions when necessary. Now I am trying not to get sucked into watching some more birds due to the OP lol.

You can also get sucked into time lapse cams on youtube of other types of smaller birds.

I'm pretty upset today, so I appreciate having the nice hawk family to watch.

I picked up a couple hanging baskets of fuchsia today. The hummers only took a few minutes to find them. While I was watching them a fox ran across my front yard and into the woods behind my neighbor. Right after that a great blue heron flew across the yard. All in all a great wildlife day including the antics of various birds at the feeders.

We have eagles all over around here, you see them often. We saw one sitting at the edge of a farm field not long ago, now that was a first. I'm sure its because we have woodlands, the river and lakes here. We have preserved wetlands too.
Hubs got home, his plane was delayed an hour and a half because the toilet didn't work. Oh my. We got him just before dark as I really don't drive in the dark. The commute was good except for the horrible bumpy I 70. That was resurfaced seems like a couple of years ago and now its patched all over. Either poor job or not built for the amount of traffic on it.
I haven't driven hubs truck much but DD wanted me to drive it so we did. I really had to watch that thing was up to 80 before I realized it. Hubs said with the 10 speed transmission it could probably go the top speed on the speedometer. Wish there was a safe straightaway to see. But 75 is fast enough for me. An hour and a half to Indi and a stop at a rest stop, so not bad. That's about 100 miles.
I think we are all a bit tired today as it was after 10 before we got home. Hubs is out mowing, I didn't do it.
We are thinking of selling the Blackstone grill we have. It is an iron cook top and even with me greasing it between uses it gets rust, I will have to clean it good before using it. I also keep it covered so it won't be exposed to rain. The new ones have a non-stick surface. They came out a couple of months after I bought this one. Has anyone else bought one of these and used it to know if it is better and durable? We like it for fajitas, though I may look at a big flat coated griddle of some type to use on the grill. I like it, I bought it from Kenmore some years back on sale and it has coated grids I can clean well. Also has the side burner that I have canned on before, so a really nice grill I intend to have for many more years. It is covered and well taken care of too.
I need to take a short nap and then get ready and go get some groceries. We are having filet mignon, baked potatoes, and salad this evening, one of our favorite meals. We don't have it often enough.

The cats were glad to see hubs, I was kind of surprised. One jumped on his lap, they were following him around. I think he was surprised. He wanted them out of the bedroom because they were playing. I went in and said are they bothering you, he said Smoke was licking my hand. Oh just close the door enough I don't see the light. That was surprising from him. I did not put them in their room.
They were not in bed with us this morning. Tig slept on the top of his cat post I think or on my office chair. Smokey slept in my recliner and came in after hubs got up. They were such good boys. Maybe he won't want them closed in all the time at night and let them alone.
They are both outside today, its 75 out and they must be enjoying the nice weather. Though we are supposed to get storms, they wind is picking up.

Thinking the younger hatchling may not survive. The older one is pretty brutal pecking at it. If the 2nd does not survive, it doesn't bode well for the ones that still haven't hatched as the oldest gets stronger.
