Oh wow. I have nothing nice to say either but he was a HUGE part of pop culture growing up. I was a kid when the trial was aired.

Meh is kinda how I feel. Well, more like karma finally caught up with him, but not wanting to gloat. My gloating is saved for someone else.

Well, he has to face the ultimate Judge now. A good lawyer won't be able to get him off this time. I still feel sorry for his kids. I wonder if either of them will ever write a book about what really happened?

I didn’t even know he was I’ll. Me either. But I didn't care either. Him and Bill Cosby. I just don't care.

I have a case of that stuff that killed the cat aka curiosity. After his acquittal Simpson lost a civil trial with millions of dollars awarded to the Goldman family. As far as I know he never paid that off. So now I wonder whether the Goldman's can file a claim against his estate? Does anyone know?
IMO, and it really is just my opinion, Simpson got away with murder. There is really no reason for even a penny to be left in any way, shape, or form.

Not sure if the Goldman judgement is included in that number. A little looking said that this is what he now owes on the $33M judgement. He paid out $133,000.

Herschel Walker’s son, Christian, is on tic tok. HW was friends with OJ. Christian’s take on the whole thing was interesting. He said it was almost a fluke that his Dad didn’t kill his Mom in the same manner. He feels it was in both OJ and his Dad’s entitlement that they had full power of those women. 😞

I did read something interesting. Goldman s judgement has the same priority as the IRS and comes before other creditors.
Apparently, his executor said that he’s going to make sure not a dime of the estate was going to go to Goldman. The following day, he backpedaled. I guess getting threatened with disbarment will do that to you!

To the entitlement thing. I'm NOT making an excuse for OJ or victim blaming. I think there might have been some "entitlement" but maybe not the kind we think of. More like "entitlement" to have their bad behavior hushed up and swept under the rug by the Football leagues/owners. I wonder if CTE was to blame (for both men). And I'm still pretty confident that OJ killed both Brown and Goldman. The murders happened in 1994. CTE wasn't "discovered" until 2002. I'm sure there were plenty of families/wives dealing with erratic (sometimes violent) behavior from their former football playing husbands. in the 80's and 90's. And it was all just swept under the rug. There were a lot of articles in the late 2000s thru the mid 2010s about how the the powers that be in Football were aware of the problems but did nothing - it wasn't their problem -it was a problem for the players family. It wasn't until the 2000's that CTE and the possible dangers of Football (and probably any sport in which repeated concussions/head injuries) occur made the news. Back in the day I saw the OJ trial as just another "rich guy" getting off the hook. The old "he's rightfully angry - his young "gold digging" wife divorced him and gets to live on easy street while HE gets taken to the cleaners" he's rich enough to "fix" this problem and he did so. I had little sympathy for him - just a rich guy with a clever, good, lawyer. But, looking back on it now I have to wonder if the money/people behind Football had a hand in it and were also winners when OJ was not convicted. OJ was not the first former player to have violence/mental health problems, and the Football leagues/backers/team owners knew about this. I wonder how many other former football players got "good outcomes" from any brushes with the law before OJ. I didn't dig very deep: The NFL wives did get a settlement: www.nbcnews.com/news/investigations/nfl-wives-765-million-won-t-fix-our-husbands-brain-n9631Most of the other articles I found are New York times and Wapo articles - probably behind a paywall: For battered NFL wives, a message from the cops and the league: Keep quiet www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2014/10/17/for-battered-nfl-wives-a-message-from-the-cops-and-the-league-keep-quiet/Wives United by Husbands’ Post-N.F.L. Trauma www.nytimes.com/2007/03/14/sports/football/14wives.htmlI’m the Wife of a Former N.F.L. Player. Football Destroyed His Mind. www.nytimes.com/2018/02/02/opinion/sunday/nfl-cte-brain-damage.htmlHere's some general info: Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is a brain condition thought to be linked to repeated head injuries and blows to the head. The symptoms of CTE include memory loss, confusion, impaired judgment, impulse control problems, aggression, depression, anxiety, suicidality, parkinsonism, and, eventually, progressive dementia. These symptoms often begin years or even decades after the last brain trauma or end of active athletic involvement. After CTE was first diagnosed in 2002 in the brain tissue of Mike Webster, brain donation for specialized autopsies to check for CTE have become more available.

I was hoping they would slice OJ’s brain to see if CTE was present. Although, if it is present my feelings will be complicated. Football (American) is atrocious.
