This grift deserves its own thread. Donald Trump Selling Bibles Sparks Fury From Christians—'Blasphemous Grift'Former President Donald Trump's latest venture selling Bibles has sparked the fury of Christians. Trump, who became the presumptive Republican nominee earlier in March, posted a video on his Truth Social platform on Tuesday urging his supporters to buy the "God Bless the USA Bible," inspired by country singer Lee Greenwood's patriotic ballad. "Happy Holy Week! Let's Make America Pray Again. As we lead into Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless the USA Bible," Trump wrote in the post, alongside a link to a website selling the book for $59.99. It came a day after Trump seemingly compared his legal plight to Jesus Christ's persecution. And it comes as he faces mounting legal bills while fighting four criminal indictments and a series of civil charges while running to reclaim the White House. On Monday, a New York appeals court agreed to hold off on collecting the more than $454 million he owes following a civil fraud judgment if he puts up $175 million within 10 days. But the move has sparked the ire of Christians. Trump selling copies of the Bible "during Holy Week like it's just one more overpriced Trump shoe or steak has really touched a nerve among voters—we've heard from many upset Faithful America members since his video appeared," the Rev. Nathan Empsall, executive director of Faithful America, told Newsweek via email. "Seeing the indicted, would-be dictator, sell so-called 'patriotic' Bibles does provide a parallel to Holy Week, but it's not with Jesus," Empsall added. It annoyed me when he was signing Bibles. (I'm still surprised THOSE didn't burst into flames.) I don't try to judge people, but dang the man sets new lows all of the time, and I don't understand why his MAGA followers don't see it.

It doesn't matter if they are annoyed. They will still vote for him even if they believe he is the anti-Christ, because democrats are worse.

Okay now if there was actually a God you would think there would be some old school smiting going on because wouldn't this count as false idolatry? Isn't that one of the big 10 commandments? Didn't Moses get pissed and smash the tablets because when he came down from the mountain he caught everyone worshipping a golden bull?
You're not buying this Bible because you worship God. You are buying it because you worship Trump.
I'm an atheist and I find this incredibly offensive and disrespectful.

I was thinking about this earlier, and also wondering about smiting this worthless scum. If you go by the Old Testament which has a very vengeful God, smiting would be the least you'd expect. If you go by the New Testament very loving God as a father, then Trump is one of his wayward children who is not beyond redemption.
I have literally prayed for Trump to develop a conscience and morals; clearly hasn't happened yet.

The eighty-eight criminal charges against trump is just the beginning of God smiting him.

The mods might need to remove this post, but I thought I'd share it, because it DID occur to me that he had rewritten his version of the Bible:

IDk I am pretty sure even in New Testament Christianity you are not supposed to put anyone above God and I feel like buying a Bible published by Trump to benefit Trump himself is doing exactly that.
This was a rant my Contemporary Christian professor got on once about how so many people call themselves Christian but aren't because they put politics above God. It doesn't mean you can't care about causes but ... what people are doing with Trump ... that's not Christian.
You're sacrificing everything Jesus taught because Trump gets you to believe he'll support whatever political agenda you prefer and lets you mask it as being a warrior for Jesus.
We could write an entire thesis just on how Trump is the antithesis of everything Jesus stood for. We could also make a very good case for he is the actual anti-Christ if you believe such things.

Saw someone suggesting on social media today that this is a way for churches, who aren’t supposed to contribute to political organizations, to make big donations to Trump.
Buy 10,000 bibles at 60 bucks a pop.

There have been many comments from Christian leaders who are equally offended, especially since Trump’s Bible includes copies of the Nation’s founding documents including the constitution. Trying to destroy the part about separation of church and state. Render unto Caesar and all that. Trump points out on the Bible website that none of the profits will go to his campaign. Instead, the money goes to CIC Ventures, which has Trump as the manager, president, secretary and treasurer. Just another way to fleece the minions.

THE BOROWITZ REPORTAll Copies of Trump's Bible Recalled After It Was Found to Contain Nuclear CodesPALM BEACH (The Borowitz Report)—Donald J. Trump’s ambition to become the nation’s leading Bible salesman hit a snag when the entire first printing of his $60 Holy Book was found to include stolen nuclear codes. The error reportedly turned up in the Book of Genesis, a source familiar with the publication said, when “Noah is loading the animals onto the Ark and just starts shouting random numbers for no reason.” The source struggled to explain how the classified codes wound up in Trump’s edition of the Scriptures, but added, “Generally when there’s a screwup this massive, Jared’s involved.” “They were down at Mar-a-Lago, mashing up the Bible, the Pledge of Allegiance, Lee Greenwood lyrics, and other things that were lying around,” the source said. “Mistakes were made.” According to the source, the recall of the Trump Bible is expected to “totally wipe out” the gains the indicted businessman made in the stock market last week and has rendered him “ketchup-throwing mad.” “He’s furious that he has to take the nuclear codes out of the Bible,” the source said. “It’s the only part he’s read.” Not the best link because it requires a paid subscription which I do not have: link

I find it amusing that he included the Constitution in the Bible, considering the Constitution is a document which he has tried his very best to ignore.
But I guess it makes sense in a strange sort of way. He has tried pretty hard to ignore the Bible too.
If he and his acolytes in Congress succeed in rewriting the Constitution, which they have been thinking about trying to do for a while, then he can publish a NEW Trump Bible with the NEW Constitution in it. Along with a new chance to fleece his followers out of $59.99. Maybe $79.99 to take inflation into account.

Donald Trump selling bibles, for some reason this thread started my day off with a laugh. I'm wondering if he has a team in place to come up with the most outlandish thing they can think of.
