Wow that came out big!! Big Asta. I’ve got a vet visit lined up for him. He keeps those grungy eyes all the time, not sure if it’s allergies or what. Also needs his shots. Been dreading it because he will absolutely loose his shit when I zip him into the soft side carrier I got him. He’s strong enough he might muscle his way out of the carrier. In case you don't know how to reduce the size of a photo, after you have entered the photo url info into the photo link, and before you hit enter tap on the VISUAL at the bottom of the posting box to see how big the picture is. If you think it is too bid, tap the BBCode. This will show the code in the box. Look for style="max-width:100%. Change the 100% to maybe 50%. Hit Visual again to see if the picture size is now okay. If not, tap BBCode again and raise or lower the max-width again.

Just wanted to say how much I admire your patience and kindness in winning Asta's confidence and affection, happyhoix. Most people would have given up and returned him, FWIW, you did great! Also, even though Asta is one big beautiful fur-ball and I love the picture you posted, I also know from experience that Maine Coons are also big and beautiful. Would it be possible for you to post a picture of her?

I think Happy posted a pic of Asta in reply #84 I saw that. I was hoping to see a picture of her Maine Coon. Guess I worded my request wrong. I will try. I struggled on that first photo! my Maine coon is petite - I got her from a MC rescue who got her from a MC breeder who was going to put her down because she was two years old and no one wanted to adopt her (probably because she is small for a MC and pigeon toed.). They talked the breeder into letting them have her and I saw her on their web page. She’s an amazing cat - and she takes no BS from the big boy.

Well I tried to upload a picture of the MC and for some reason can’t get Imgur to work this time. I’ll try again later. I want to get it to work so I can post some pictures for Tenn on the gardening thread…. Maybe I can find a tutorial for it.

What pitfalls do I need to look out for?have not yet met the mcs Well I can’t pretend to be an expert on MC or cat adoptions…. I’ve owned a half MC and a full blooded (but small) MC, and that’s the extent of my MC expertise. I will say though that my parents always had Siamese cats, and I do like Siamese, but the two MC I’ve had were probably the best cats I’ve ever owned. In theory, MC can have a lot of dog characteristics, like following you around the house and wanting to be in the same room with you all the time (but not necessarily in your lap). I don’t know if it’s specific to the breed or not, or related to them having larger than usual paws, but my two MC were clumsy, for cats. Things like failing to calculate a jump accurately and falling short, for instance. Or trying to jump off a piece of furniture to the floor and sprawling. Mine were both extremely affectionate lap cats, but I don’t know if most MC are. As for introducing new cats into the house, whenever I’ve done that I always give the new comer their own room/food/litter pan so that they can get used to the new space and the existing cat(s) can smell the new ones under the door. Did you ask the person who has the 3 MCs if they are ok with being around other cats? You don’t want them to pick on your current cat. Once they’ve had some time to get used to their new home (took Astra a full 3 months to get to that point), you would let the four cats commingle, but to begin with, just when you’re there to supervise. Let me repeat I’m not an expert!! However over the years I’ve always had 2 - 3 cats at a time, and while I had some that didn’t much care for the other cats, I never had any that couldn’t successfully cohabitate with other cats, although I do know there are some cats that only do well being single cats. I LOVE MCs. I hope you can give these three a good home.

Thanks - I will try to remember this. Copy what I wrote and then paste it into a message you send to your self in a Proboard's message. That way you won't have to hunt for it. I've done this many times! Sometimes with pictures I thought I might want to use as my avatar.

For just posting pictures in threads which when one posted are wary foo big, that is when those directions I wrote come in handy.

I may have gotten that confused. You're the one who taught me how to resize pictures on this web site. And I've always been grateful. Thanks!
