I have an Amazon account and I read on my Kindle or using the Kindle app frequently. I do read romance novels and some of them can get pretty steamy.
I won a Kindle Paperwhite last year or so, and DD wants to use it now and she's 12.5. I don't want to create a whole new Amazon account as I still want to monitor what she can purchase. I don't tend to monitor what she reads. She has NO desire to read what I read nor do I want any ads to show on her screen that would relate to what I read. However, I don't want what I read to be shown on her Kindle's library. How in the world do I need to setup the Kindle and related Amazon account?
The help section with Amazon wasn't helpful in my opinion. Anyone have any ideas?

I am on DH's kindle account. There's a button when I get a new book to toggle that will not share it with him. In terms of setting up a new one they definitely wouldn't show in the downloads section. I'm not sure if there's a never share option.
I went into my Amazon account to manage content and devices. I went to my kindle and under details there is a share content button. It lists my DH's kindle and he's not sharing with me. So to set up your daughter's I think you'd need to go in under hers and toggle your kindle to off for sharing.
ETA: I think you'd need to set up an account for her and then login to the kindle that way. I saw some articles mentioning creating a child account.

I believe you can have multiple emails for the same kindle account. Even with the same email, when you download a new book you select which device it goes to. You can also do a family library and decide if you want to share or not. I'm not sure if this can be selective or not though, I share with my sister and turned it off for awhile because she reads a lot and it makes it more difficult to navigate my own. When I went to find a book i actually wanted I turned share back on and got 300. You can go into manage content and devices and play around with it.
