I thought about writing in the aged parent thread, but this really doesn't fit as I am the aged parent.
I am worried about her, she is wanting a wheelchair or a walker. I'm afraid if she gets the wheelchair she will quit walking. I told her if she gets where she cannot I just can't take care of her longer. While I can still deal with everything now, if she gets like that I don't think hubs and I together could manage her care. Hubs doesn't think she can use a walker, but I want to get her one with a seat so if she gets tired she can sit down. I think I can push one like that if necessary, have to check into them.
She does not want to exercise at all. Whether its her chronic afib or just not having any desire too, both are a problem. We have a senior group in town that has started doing chair exercises. I asked her if she would go with me as that might help her some and is not to taxing. I'm checking to see what age they will accept people. She will be 53 this year, but you know some old folks don't seem to want someone like her. We will see if its possible. I just have to do something to try and help her. I can't imagine her being in a nursing home before me, that would be so sad.
She is not feeling well at all. I helped her bathe this afternoon because she was hurting, she didn't say it was the hemorrhoids, but I think so. And I can't believe it with everything else both she and I forgot to bring that up with her doctor, damn. But she is claiming its her shoulders, could be with her scoliosis and lack of exercise.
I'm going to see what I can do to help her, just need to look at various possibilities. Also going to talk with her case worker. You know that's one thing people like her need is physical therapy rehab and none of the insurance she has will pay for it. She won't even sit up straight, hasn't for some time, only when I remind her, she is looking like an old person. This should not be the way a parent and child is. Sometimes I think she is just giving up. It makes me very sad for her.
Ok, I have written about a lot of things tonight, it feels better getting it off my chest. Glad you folks are here.
But I did watch 2 really good movies tonight while checking on her. She is sleeping well and I should have been in bed before 3AM, will set my alarm as she will need to eat in the morning for sure.
Night all, or good morning.

Sorry CG2. When people feel bad sometimes they don't say everything that is bothering them. Maybe you can try the walker on the condition she walks a certain amount.

I am so sorry, countrygirl2. We have a number of people in my extended family who've been born with different disabilities, and the one thing I was told that sticks out for me, is disabled people age more rapidly than the general population, which as a parent of a disabled adult child is difficult to think about. Things that normally strike "older folks" begin to affect them at a younger age. I have no solutions, just some virtual hugs. Do talk to her doctor about what you're seeing, and hopefully they can help.

To do that you would need to get a rollator/transport hybrid. I have no information on what a good one would be and they can be quite pricy (check Amazon for ideas) but it might be what CGs daughter needs

Mom's walker has a seat with a basket underneath. No, a person could not be pushed while seated.
