The Hill has an article about someone releasing a recording of Jeff DeWit, state GOP chair, offering Lake money/a job in exchange for not running for office for two years.
DeWit said powerful GOP donors wanted Lake to stay out of the senate race.
I’m cynical. I think Lake released this herself to try to get attention in order to push her chances at being Trumps VP. (In the recording she talks about how this is an attack on Trump.)

I'd recommend clicking on the link in the Hill article to find the Daily Mail publication.
I've listened to the audio that the Mail published and I have no doubt that Lake leaked this to them. She appears to know what is coming and is speechifying. Her audio is also crystal-clear. Whether the audio is legit or faked is beyond my pay grade. All that I can say with confidence is that it is performative and that Lake is the star performer.

She’s performing for one guy - Trump. I heard that he isn’t interested in her, though, because she would try to hog the spotlight, and there is only one spotlight hog, and that’s him.

Kari Lake just successfully pushed out Arizona's top Republican Party official after he allegedly tried to bribe her to stay out of politicsThe chairman of the Arizona Republican Party resigned on Wednesday, alleging the GOP Senate candidate Kari Lake all but forced him into doing so. On Tuesday, the Daily Mail published a 10-minute audio recording in which Jeff DeWit, the party chairman who's served for just under a year, appears to bribe Lake into staying out of politics for two years. "Soo the ask I got today from back East was, 'Is there any companies out there or something that could just put her on the payroll to keep her out?'" DeWit says, according to the audio. "You can take a pause for a couple of years. You can go right back to what you're doing." Lake, apparently recording the in-person interaction herself, can be heard repeatedly rejecting the entreaties, saying she wouldn't even do it for $1 billion. that's just fucking lazy. she is a terrible candidate. she failed to win statewide office last time. she is very likely to fail to do so again.
i would have taken the bribe, honestly. especially if the money were transferred to her in a foreign account PRIOR to her announcing that she was withdrawing. because she is GOING to lose, imo.

I saw some GOPers making noises about how they were shocked there was corruption in their party. Seriously, you’ve got a GOP candidate who is going to have to pay a shit ton of money because he cooked his business books for years and you’re shocked there is corruption.
