We've had Halloween canceled because of snow. I've seen plow drifts as tall as me.

I had to abandon my car in my working parking lot one year because it wouldn't get through. DH had to get me in the truck. We dug it out the next day.

Has it been THAT long since we had real snow here?

And if liberals can control nature you'd think we'd have orchestrated a tornado to come and take Trump to Oz back in 2016. Why wait till now and make it a snow storm that can be cleared by these things called plows?

my favourite broken promise was the GDP promise. not only did he not produce 4-6% GDP growth, he did not even produce 1% in ANY quarter during his presidency. i don't know if that is a record or not, but i suspect it is. Obama had four quarters above 1% in (8) years, including two in his first term.

They want to believe the stories. They liked the story of how Jesus died for them until its been pointed out Jesus also took care of the poor and sick. So I think that's part of why the Trump as Savior story plays so well. It makes them feel better about themselves. instead of actually following Jesus Christ. Trump is a rich selfish businessman that somehow has decided to save the good upstanding conservatives. He does not like the poor and the sick, so he ignores them and that fits in with the bootstrap lie that most of these MAGAs believe. If its good, they obviously boot strapped their way up. But if it's bad, it's obviously the fault of those people. Those people change on time and era. When Italians and the Irish were seen by some as immigrant invaders. Now its hate of brown people and perhaps Jews and blacks. And of course, uppity women and people who wanted to be treated well regardless of their sexual orientation. They have big problems Trump tells the MAGA faithful, so I guess that feeds into an ever-expanding list of enemies.

So, I guess MAGAs are the biggest consumers of fiction. They like the idea of a power mad rich white guy charging through Washington on their behalf. Some like it so much, they even support the author when it was pointed out his donation website(s) charged them more than they signed up for. I guess for some the feels of believing the Wall will protect them or saving the rich white (fake) Savior is so good; they will pay from their wallets like addicts.

Of course not, because to admit that would be to realize the economic choices he made during the pandemic might not have been the right ones. We know that the government needs to spend during the bad times and save during the good. It is counter-intuitive to some.

So Trump tried to keep the economy moving during the beginning of the pandemic and then shifted importance to his own survival quickly. It was then he no longer cared about anyone else except for perhaps Jared and his fave daughter who were shoring him up. Even with whatever Wharton school training he did take, I doubt it occurred to him to manage the pandemic economy for success towards the end of his term. Because he obviously thought of winning another term when it was clear he was not going to win consecutive ones. But he is a Marketer, and he thinks he can market his way out of anything. Its worked for him pretty well before the Presidency. Losing all the election cases because it was all marketing bluster shows his usual all hat not cattle aspect.

He can’t help but embrace her. Anyone, no matter how extreme a lunatic, who says nice things about him he will compliment and repost their tweets. No matter how racist, homophobic, sexist or just plain stupid they are.

Loomer was the one who claimed the military made Iowa really cold to discourage Trump voters from coming out to vote. I rolled my eyes so much I saw the back of my skull. Hard to imagine someone that stupid still manages to walk upright.

But - I really appreciate the hilarity of it! That this is being proposed as part of reality? If it was in a TV show you'd laugh your arse off and say no one could be so stupid!
