Not good for Harvard reputation. President Claudine Gay along with UPenn and MIT presidents gave poor responses to antisemitism on their campuses. But Gay had another problem, plagiarism in her PhD thesis and other papers. She plagiarized from another Black woman’s research, Carol Swain. At first Harvard tried to diminish but more was found. I’ve done a PhD thesis as well as I think others here and it’s really difficult work. Angry to learn that Gay did this and was allowed to resign. She still is a highly paid professor at an institution that dismisses students for plagiarism. Alums have said they will stop donations till she was removed fro presidency. Sad, I have had black women colleagues and professors . Brilliant, hard working and ethical women, Personally I hope Gay is removed from Harvard completely www.reuters.com/world/us/harvard-president-gay-resigns-harvard-crimson-student-newspaper-2024-01-02/

I'm sure Harvard will weather the storm.
I'm more concerned about Harvard continuing to foist such geniuses on us like Elise Stefanik, Ted Cruz, and tom Cotton

I don't see how this impacts Harvard's reputation that much. From the OP's URL (article) Despite the controversy ensnaring Gay, the Harvard Corporation last month reaffirmed its confidence that she could lead the school through a period of high tension over the war in the Middle East. It also said an independent review of Gay's academic work found she had not committed research misconduct. She has submitted several corrections for citation errors in recent weeks.
Gay, the first Black president in Harvard's 388-year history, and the members of the Harvard Corporation said in their letters to the community on Tuesday that she had been subject to racist attacks.
So like any PhD paper it may require lots of citations etc. From this article it appears the allegations of plagarism are false and inaccurate. It seems she screwed up on her citations and has since corrected that. I do believe she was targeted by Stefanik and conservative lawmakers simply because she is a black woman. Conservatives you are playing identity politics if you insist the best person for the job should be a white male. Duh. www.msn.com/en-us/news/opinion/wsj-opinion-harvard-s-president-doesn-t-go-quietly/vi-AA1mANV8?ocid=msedgntp&pc=DCTS&cvid=addddf472ce9440a866c599c2d843b75&ei=9I do not know how to grab just the first video which is an opinion of the WSJ white male conservative pundits. I chose not to watch it all as they were basically pretending they were not racist (lies) while pretending plagiarism mattered to them (where was the uproar by conservative white guys over Melania and other Trump WH speeches. I know Trump is out of the WH campaigning but he is plagiarizing Hitler and others with abandon Its the usual pretend we are better than those non white males nonsense. Its not surprising that Palestinians possibly crushed or having family members being killed by Jews and the Jewish state might call for their genocide. Sadly I don't think anyone would get that upset if it went the other way. Jews calling for the genocide of Hamas. I support all three college Presidents for not caving to black and white thinking. Which seems only important to most GOP law makers if its the opposite side that falls short or does not say it how they want to hear it. Stefanik is a hypocrite as are her supporters. Where was the damn outcry with the "Jews will not replace us" by angry young white men with Tiki torches? Where was the OMG AntiSemitism must be stamped out now hysteria. Why was "There are good people on both sides" OK when Trump said it. Why was it OK then for Trump to refuse to say no to antisemitism then but now since its a black woman college President in her very first year its a big ass deal? The only answer is the usual hypocrisy.
