Here is an article on ideas to make extra money. I have not tried any of them but plan on doing so.

I did #2 when I got divorced I don't think #3 means what they think it means #4 is not necessarily good long term #6 I looked into and mildly attempted in 2015, but it just wasn't worth the effort

Internet services - our library has hotspots that can be checked out. IDK if their use is free or not but it might be worth a look. We had a cheap hotspot for a while. It worked great. #5. Rakuten, I do this online. One site over Xmas was returning 18% from Rakuten. There is a way to use it in store but have not tried it.
#6. Freecash have not tried this. #7 Debit card - I won't use one even though the ones attached to checking accounts can earn interest on the account with 12 or more purchases. My DD uses this. #8. Branded Surveys - I started this yesterday. The Surveys are for points. The high point value surveys fill out quickly. I didn't qualify for a few surveys but did get a few points. In addition, I'm signed up with Pinecone Research and have been for years. I don't get as many surveys as I used to. Maybe my age and being retired. They pay $3 per survey which can be cashed in for products or a cash option.
I'm signed up for digital coupons in stores. It does take time to click the digitals but a stocker showed me how to get it fast. We save up to 50% on some grocery trips. One grocer has an extra rewards where there are several free products to choose from.

Back to the library. With a library card, we can get free tickets to participating venues. Mostly museums. There must be only a few free tics available but it did save us $50 at a botanical garden. Some libraries offer a lot of programs for teens including gaming and crafts. The library's site or newsletter is where to find these.

Ican tell you what happens. You need to take a ‘small survey’ to see if you are eligible. After the first 15-20 min answering questions, you get ‘I’m sorry, you are not eligible’. My gut feeling was that they got the info anyway. Those are a scam. You get thrown just enough bones to keep you hooked, but not enough to make it worthwhile. I unsubscribed from them all.

The Walk of the Penguin Mich is exactly right about most of those survey sites. They are very irritating and scammy. In another post, I mentioned signing up for a clinical trial (the one I did was a heartburn medication that's already approved in Europe, but is trying to get approved in the US). I made $2700 total, for a few trips to the clinic where they collected blood samples, EKG's, urine samples, etc. And I filled out a diary type app on my phone that tracked medication taking and symptoms. I would do it again if I qualified for one.

Mich - my experience with Branded Surveys was similar. Too many surveys had already been done by others. I did make the 500 points to get $5.23. IDK how many surveys I did. One I quit part way through when the questions about my finances kept getting more and more exact and personal. My estimate, I made just pennys for my time.
rem74 - my late Dad years ago told me not to get involved in medical studies because they say the trial is for one thing but it's actually something else that can have last bad effects. I do know our local hospital had a lot of clinical trials they couldn't get anyone involved in. My H's brother was in a clinical trial in college. He thinks the myesthna gravis he has now was a result of that. No way to prove it. No recourse avenues.
I'm glad you had a good result and made some money. What is working is Rakuten paying a percentage of items bought online. One site had 18% return of purchase over Xmas. They automatically send a check semi annually. And Fetch where I take photo of receipt to get points. I've had no payout on Fetch yet.

AT&T and T-Mobile do not have service in our neighborhood. Just Spectrum. DH says no to dish. So, what we pay is what it costs.

I have Ibotta, Fetch and Rakuten. It's not huge money. Ibotta is very feast or famine for me. I could have cashed out on Fetch but I'm waiting to get a bigger Dunkin gift card.

Tried another Branded survey with 105 points. I answered all the short survey questions then they said I didn't qualify 2 pts. They got all the info from me. I think I will cash out then unsubscribe. I could not figure out Ibotta after I signed up. I couldn't figure out Rakuten in a store.

I have never used Rakuten in a store, but I do not do indoor shopping. I couldn't figure out Ibotta either.

I use Ibotta in the 2 grocery stores I use Go to store in Ibotta , click on items you think you’ll buy like yogurt brand that’s listed. When you shop and get receipt, go back to Ibotta grocery store you went to, a message upload receipt is there. Take photo of receipt, upload . Then Ibotta will detect the yogurt (or other checked item) and credit your account. Link your bank account and transfer once you have at least $25 in Ibotta account I’ve earned about $100/year

Thanks jerseygirl. IDK how Ibotta will mesh with the store digital rewards since that is similar but the digital rewards come off the total at the cash register.

So, what we pay is what it costs. If you have a Verizon cell phone check and see if they offer internet. Verizon is expanding its areas and I’m almost there. I’ll be going from $90 with spectrum to $50 with Verizon.

I have done Rakuten for years and always get a quarterly payout. It only makes sense to use this app. Use my code to sign up and we both get cash backwww.rakuten.com/r/ORIANA79?eeid=28187 Surveys are a very very slow way to get a gift card for some "fun money" $10 here and there.

I burned out real quick on doing surveys. I'd go through all the preliminary questions then they'd say I didn't qualify for the survey or it was full. Sometimes I got a few points sometimes not. A hard way to make anything. That's through Branded Surveys. Rakuten has a survey offering. I did sign up but didn't do any surveys. My best soft money maker is the coupons at the grocery store. At the end of the receipt, it says how much we saved. I feel for people who don't use those coupons. H. said when he was a kid, he could take coupons into the store and get money without buying anything.
