Brook Benton did Rainy Night in Georgia. Great song, but different guy. YOu are right. Brook Benton did sing it (my favorite). But I am listening to a version of the song sung by George Benson on YouTube right now. In a coincidence, I was at the library yesterday morning and checked out that CD.

i don't even know where to start.
i love the new thing by UK DJ Sockethead called Drenched Worlds Fall Apart the new Jean-Jaques Birge thing called La Prueve is astonishing for those that find those two totally offputting, Get The Blessing just dropped a fantastic new jazz record. very accessible and lovely. if you like hard rock, Oklahoma based Chat Pile's album God's Country is absolutely harrowing. even if you hate the music, you have to love the lyrics- particularly the track WHY? (excerpt below):
Why do people have to live outside? I couldn't survive out on the streets I've never had to push All my shit around In a shopping cart Have you? Have you ever had ringworm? Scabies? Have you ever had to live outside? I don't wanna live outside Why? Why? Why do people have to live outside? Horror story Real American horror story It's a fucking tragedy Fucking tragedy Every day Every day People have to live outside Why?

I like all types of music, recent and older. My Spotify list has so much variation: Lizzo, Usher, Boston, Luke Combs, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, etc.
My all time favorite though is The Eagles. I was just a small child when most of their music was released but their songs are a huge part of my history. They were the one group my entire family could agree on when on road trips. I continued listening to them in college and throughout my life. I have always wanted to see them live and finally forked over a small fortune for floor seats. I can't wait. They are all in their 70's now, and Glenn Fry has passed, so I hope they meet my expectations.

It's been a few years since I have seen the Eagles, but the last time I saw them, they definitely met my expectations.
