I have more but they are not famous names, especially rock and roll. A brilliant concert pianist at the regional library. Lots of folk musicians, some of who I bought their CDs. Street fair performers, Christian and spiritual music artists. I think I probably posted one woman's songs to someone on the board. We have a similar voice range so I love some her stuff because selfishly I can sing it without modifying the song to fit me. Mannheim Steamroller might have come to one of my local NJ malls once and I showed up to hear them. Love those small time folk artists. Lived in a very rural area for a while and there was a small coffee shop that every couple months had music, always mid-week. You'd get there and always saw a lived in vehicle parked out front. Inside was a person, a guitar, and a case full of CD's along with a couple dozen of us locals. One of my fave songs from performers at the Folk Project has is "Jews don't Camp". There are other gems, some quite political but that is a fun happy song. I do camp, but I am not a happy camper, i.e. the tent thing and sometimes even the shared shower thing so the song reminds me a bit of me. I don't need a 4 star or 5 star hotel, but its on my list to stay at one at least once. You'd probably love my BFF up in small town Wisconsin. He's a violinist and plays mandolin. He loves playing gigs on the weekends and I'd like to do something like that. I miss Sunday choir, but hopefully I'll be back sooner than later.

Ferrante and Teicher! Loved listen to their LP's in front of a fire. With one other. A crowd would have been what would have put a damper on things. I have LP’s of my piano recitals. Teacher taped and had made into records. “My name is NNP and I’m going to play Hayfoot Strawfoot! Or Volga Boat Song. Crap this thread has sent me down music memory lane. Sorry folks I am super jealous. I do not have any recordings of my piano recitals growing up. If there was anything, it is property of my dad and probably lived on reel to reel somehow. I think I have to request I get the record made of my time in summer orchestra at University of Illinois. He owns that too. I get it, he and mom paid money and time into my music lessons and instruments. I think there might be a record of my cello solo in Jr high too, but that may be in an unfortunate format as well. I did pretty well, but still cringe at this one mistake I made. I should remind him the one CD of his I really really want when he passes is of a large choir. Super powerful music, feels like it can shift reality when I listen to it.

Sorry folks All four of us siblings took piano lessons when young. When it came to one year's recital time, my older brother and I did out individual piano songs and a duet. Younger brother and sister were only to do a duet. Younger brother and sister threw their sheet music away on the way to the recital. Ergo, they did not perform at the recital. It was about then that I and the two younger ones ended piano lessons. Older brother ended up taking piano lessons for maybe ten years of his youth? Played the piano up until his passing.

There were two of us at each piano. It was called Mexican Clap Hand Dance We played then clapped our hands at certain pauses in song. Well someone clapped at wrong time and I got the giggles and couldn’t stop laughing. You can hear me laughing on the record. Teacher was not happy!

Reminded me of this scene from 1953's The 50,000 Fingers of Dr. T.

MS played recorder in Jr High and we went to her daytime concert. YS took singing lessons which I took her to once. (Why once? I had to go through a 5 point stop and the traffic lights were malfunctioning. I wasn't allowed inside, might have been a YS rule now that I think about it. Anyway, since I did not have the joy of listening to what a singing lesson was like I had the whole time to freak out and wonder if I could make our way back through the stop in I think my Dad's manual car. I had to phone a family friend to get home. But TG gratitude fact, because I had to call and he came, he taught me how the manual & clutch really engaged by feel.

I’m shattered you said that. Here I thought you were respectable. Now you have put me between a rock and a hard place. Your porch? I might paint it black. No, If You Really Want To Be My Friend, you won't. Come On, really, you might think yourself a pretty good Street Fighting Man, but I don't think those are the Tumbling Dice you want to bet on. Might end up in a place where I'd have to just Let It Bleed. Would you be Happy then? Did I Miss You or Can’t You Hear Me Knocking? I stopped by with some Dead Flowers for your Wild Horses and a Dandelion for your Little Red Rooster. I guess instead of Waiting On A Friend I’ll just be Going Home to my Factory Girl. She’s Like A Rainbow!

One of my favorite recitals is when a longtime family friend had to pause because he was only remembering about the first three phrases of the music. He restarted at least a couple times, once asking permission and then did complete the song. L also played and she was exceptional in part because she had those big piano hands. She is taller than MS and has slim fingers. (The hands where you can repeatedly stretch your hand more than one octave and do so with grace in any complex or classical piece.

I may have to check that out Tenn. I saw a Dr Seuss exhibit in Philly one year. I don't remember this being mentioned there, but I could have missed it.
For others who also are not in the know, from Wikipedia -
The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T. is a 1953 American musical fantasy film about a boy who dreams himself into a fantasy world ruled by a diabolical piano teacher enslaving children to practice piano forever. It was the only feature film written by Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss), who wrote the story, screenplay, and lyrics. It was directed by Roy Rowland, with many uncredited takes directed by producer Stanley Kramer. The film stars Peter Lind Hayes, Mary Healy, Hans Conried, and Tommy Rettig.

I have seen the Stones live in 5 straight decades. About 10-11 times. They come…I go. That simple. And the reason? It’s only rock and roll but I like it!😎 They will be at Levi stadium again next year. Just a few miles from here but...tickets will be too expensive for my taste and I have become far more protective of my ears over the decades (still ended up with hearing aids). So I will stick to putting on a CD and turning the sound to an acceptable level*. * the only song I make a volume exception for, and it is not a Rolling Stones song, is me and Bobby McGee the Janis Joplin version. When that comes on in the car the sound gets cranked up and I have to belt along.

Just remembered I want to try to hack up some moss tonight, but its dark already. Oops. Currently doing chores and need to wash pans and decide what dinner should be.
Chicago sang at the Macy's parade today. I would like to go see them live.

I love Chicago and it helps their name reminds me of the area I grew up. Maybe I should find them on YouTube and have a listen until I get over the shouting match I just had with my youngest sister. I guess I had a real TG. Not.

First 'concert' I ever attended was in 1965 when the original Supremes performed at the annual Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, MA. They did two shows and both were free.

Must have been separate concerts. And I would have sworn that Aerosmith was on the Get Your Wings tour, but a date list doesn't show them playing Seattle on that tour.
