What's on your shopping lists to take advantage of the sales that are going on now? I did some shopping at Kohl's for women's slippers - Dearfoam slippers were on sale with another 15% off not sure I will get that much off the retail price again (and just WOW! to inflation on the slipper prices). Also bought some cute holiday themed t-shirts on sale (under $6.00 each). Kohl's is weird because "retail price" is kind of a joke on most of what they sell. I will be using the Kohls cash for either a small instant pot (or maybe a rice cooker) OR some new "gym/walking" shoes. There was much of "sale" prices on cat food/litter - but I did manage to get a heck ton of reward points ($12.50 and then $20.00) by signing up for multi day purchasing "deals" - I just spread out my kitty litter purchases and cat food purchases. I bought some 2024 wall calendars with 30% off online. I'm watching the grocery ads - hoping the trend where the lowest prices on "holiday staples/foods" will happen this weekend - so I can buy flour, sugar, yeast, butter, pie fillings, and evaporated milk at good sale prices. I'm not really buying Big Stuff this year (not for lack of money - but rather lack of having a need or want for the stuff). What's in your shopping cart??

I'm looking for a better phone plan. When I looked at switching my daughter's phone to her own name last month the rep advised we wait for the Black Friday deals cause there were some good ones coming

Over the weekend at Sam's Club I got 2 gift cards for Disney, slippers and a new blender. I've been waiting for probably 6 months on the blender. We have started on our gift lists to try and take advantage of any early sales.

I've gotten some stuff for the makeup gift box that I give things to the girls from. I have bought a bunch of stuff for the new house too. I'm currently waiting for Ulta to have their big black Friday sale so I can cash in my points for Christmas presents.

Bombas socks had a 25% off your cart deal that ended yesterday. I took 10 pair on the cruise, came back with 10 pair, but somehow managed to lose 5 pair in this house. Can someone explain this?
I restocked during the sale, I should be good awhile.

I got 30% off a pair of ear buds that I've had in my cart for a week for ds which was nice. And then bought dh a sandwich maker he had saved for later in his cart that had a decent black Friday deal on it and threw in an air fryer for him that I think he'll like.
I will probably brave the neighborhood game store on Saturday to get a chunk of the kids Christmas shopping done.
There is a lego set ds really wants that is sold out at all major retailers. I found it on ebay for $300 which is "only" $50 more than retail and I'm debating getting that for him, but I think it will wait till his birthday and hope it's back in stock by then.

What is a sandwich maker?
Usually it’s me!

Guinea dad finally dropped their BF sale. The discount is lower than I'd like at the $100 price point, but I easily could fill a basket up to $200 I think ... but I will try to stay closer to $100 cuz other stuff.

OK, placed the order even though I feel some anxiety at the cost. I've been waiting all year for this. I think I've only ordered from them twice. Last time was over a year ago. The pocket in the base layer does make Moon Shadow happy, but he has chewed two holes in that one ordered last year. guineadad.com/They do bunnies now too. High end but fleece is intentionally safer for the guineas than what is typically available on Etsy. Want to order some pee pads on Etsy, but I think I will push that out until early next year sometime. (His gifts are actually for both of us. The base layer and pee pads will make it easier on me and I'll be closer to having enough stuff for two weeks. The pocket base layer got kind of trashed as I think I must not have swapped it out for more than two weeks. )

I may need to turn in my YM card after this week. But everything I bought was actually stuff we needed, for example, the light fixture over the dining room table has 2 light bulbs that are burned out, and replacing the bulbs doesn't solve the problem, so most likely this 20+ year old light fixture is dying. Found a great deal on a new light fixture (thank you Black Friday), so when it arrives I'll schedule with an electrician to get it in place. I also got a great deal on a mother-of-the-bride dress, which I'll be wearing next year. Between sales prices, kickbacks from various rebate sites, and of course using reward credit cards, it takes the pain out of shopping. So, are you gonna take away my YM card?

I don't think I've ever had a YM card because I joined YM and the MSN board in mid Aughts at least a few years after my big corporate layoff in 2003.
The board still does not have an underfunded arm ... except maybe for me.
Anyway, trying to do the right thing as I have been in survival mode off and on since the turn of the century, aka 1999 into 2000.
So, because of my underfunded status I wait all year to even have a crack at certain items. High end orthotic type shoes to keep me walking and working. Bought Stegmann black leather Chukka boot in sz 9 US equivalent as it is easily too short, not enough volume for my foot so I will start the return process the week of Cyber monday. A richer Opti and one with a working car would shoot for the moon and order a sz 10, see what kind of socks or how I felt about that version and probably land at the 9.5 . I think I will exchange this for the 9.5 in hopes it could function as a work shoe during the winter where I work.
Am thinking about my work/walk to bus stops and back shoes. I could just order the same pair I have and be done with it, except they are not waterproof or winterish in the slughtest. So try and order versions of hiking shoes with gortex or similar waterproof shoes? I have no kids, BF, XBF or SO to shlep me around. Which sucks and I still want a nuclear family for myself even it is me, wonderful man and a family of crittiers or the occasional fostered child(ren).

I only bought from 2 stores on Black Friday online, both things I had been watching for over a month. The big one was a Columbia coat for DD. It has a stupid suggested price of $160, but usually retails for between $100-120, I got it for $75 early Friday morning and now it is back up to $100. This is so she stops stealing my coat and it is getting frigid this week, so great timing. I also bought some jeans that were on sale.
Now I just need to find a good coat for my dachshund mix. Nothing seems to fit her long body.

Would be interested in Columbia or North Face online sales. Especially fleece or deep discount coats for waiting at a bus stop.

They can have some decent sales, and if you're a member of any rebate sites, like Rakuten, you might get an additional 10% off, or whatever their discount is right now.

I have been pretty successful in finding past season’s models on the sales rack at discount shoe stores. These shoes usually run fairly true to size and are very supportive. Again, don’t forget to look at the men’s rack. A comparable woman’s size in men’s is 1-1.5 sizes smaller. So a woman’s 9 is the equivalent of a men’s 7.5-8…..depending on socks. I tend to upsize 0.5 to account for socks in shoes where I wear heavy socks.
